This was a really funny video, but they should have gotten the Lightsum members to introduce themselves at the end. I know all their names, but it's clear from reading other comments that some people don't and it would've been helpful for new fans. As well as being a good way to prove their nationalities.

Juhyeon (6) and Chowon (1) were trainees at CUBE Entertainment the longest, so it makes sense that their Japanese impressed. Chowon has even released a cover of a Japanese song!

Why does being at Cube specifically have an effect? Do they have more Japanese members in their groups? I only really know Idle. Also one group, I think it’s Le Serrafim, has multiple Japanese members plus one or two that aren’t but can speak. Idk what agency they’re with tho

@@CyberEJ It's not really that Cube has more Japanese members in their groups or promotes in Japan more often in other groups, it's that Juhyeon and Chowon have been trainees for a long time before they debuted. Juhyeon was already a trainee before she appeared in The Uni+ in 2017 (at age 14) long enough to have trained with CLC (who debuted in 2015) even though she is only 19 right now. Chowon was a trainee for around a year and a half before she appeared on Produce 48 (at age 15) when she was rigged out of the final group (IZ*ONE). She turned 21 in September. Therefore Juhyeon and Chowon were trainees for at least 7 and 5 years respectively before they debuted in LIGHTSUM in 2021 and likely learned Japanese during that time.

I loved this. But man was I distracted so much by chowons makeup not matching her skin. I feel bad for her because instead of trying to make her darker skin look beautiful they’re trying to unnaturally lighten it and it makes her look like she’s wearing geisha makeup or something . I don’t get it, there are darker skinned idols like Jihyo and I don’t recall seeing her makeup look this unnatural? I hope they get someone better for her makeup in the future. This girl has so much talent. It’s impossible for her not to feel self conscious seeing the difference in makeup tone to her natural tan
