My birthday is May 25th and Lauryn’s birthday is May 26th I was in my last semester of college and I was on the road to become a pop artist. I had just finished my EP when I found out I was pregnant. Many family members expected me to abort my child but I chose to give him life. When I was 6 months pregnant. My son’s father passed away. So I was having him alone. My family played this song at my baby shower. They made a beautiful bird cage and each member marched up and gave me written messages/wishes on butterfly shaped pieces of paper that i put in the cage. I still have some of my butterfly wishes 10 years later. I cry whenever I hear this song!!!! ❤

This song has a double meaning… it’s for her son but also a declaration of her faith…Zion means The kingdom of God or The Holy place. When her son arrived it gave her life a new meaning.
