This is so sad, mother nature always win. Man always try to conquer it and end up losing everytime.

After watching this, does anyone have the common sense to know that natural emissions of CO2 (like volcanoes) are millions of times larger than all man-made sources?
@kansasthunderman110 жыл бұрын
The man made emissions are such a tiny fraction of the natural baseline that fossil fuel combustion has no significant effect on climate and we should just forget about limiting greenhouse gases from cars, homes, and power plants. Furthermore, what is the "correct" state of climate? The entire planet was formed out of hot gas and molten rock, but much later, the Ice Age occurred. Then the climate warmed up again and most of the ice melted. Hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods have been going on long before man evolved so how can scientists determine if a current event is due to climate change? Climate is a very dynamic phenomenon and the forces of nature will run their course regardless of man made influences. Also, what are the options for greenhouse gas-free energy sources? I don't believe people will embrace eliminating coal, oil, and natural gas in favor of more nuclear power plants which are zero emission. So called "alternative energy sources" (solar and wind) cannot even meet the current demand much less the future. Then there's United Nations "Agenda 21" (by the Inter-global Commission On Climate Change) that proposes cramming more people into high rise, high density housing projects and ride mass transit like in Manhattan, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. But all those high rise buildings and transit systems require a huge amount of energy to build and operate. Most people don't want to live in "stack & pack" housing projects and ride mass transit either. The fear of climate change isn't a real issue with most people and they don't want any more tax money spent (or social engineering proposals) on some wild goose chase "solution" to what is probably an illusory problem.

On the idea of reducing greenhouse gases with alternative energy, read this: reason.com/blog/2014/11/11/solar-plant-wants-to-pay-off-massive-gov

kansasthunderman1 Writing you don’t know where it’s going to come up you know it’s of you know there’s the earthquake and then it comes up to the cracks and stuff from underneath and I mean it could miss your house completely or can you not blow down into your ear area yeah I just didn’t realize just how bad it was I mean I knew it was bad at Mount St. Helens but for some reason we felt safe that time but yeah this is just amazing OK I didn’t know if you remember that you that we were there OK I’m talking about we were we can eat at the volcano OK OK

Why not dig a trench to divert lava flow away from the village?
@TheRiceowlex10 жыл бұрын
That's what I was thinking, ditch it all the way to the ocean ?
@ProActiveMedia10 жыл бұрын
TheRiceowlex Agreed. Having lived in Hilo & having first visited the Big Island since 1984, I've often wondered why not dig massive ditches and use Fire Hoses to cool off the lava in order to divert it toward the sea?!?
@ian01116210 жыл бұрын
Because the lava is slow moving and so would harden. Slowly filling in the trenches until it overcomes the trench.
@ProActiveMedia10 жыл бұрын
ian011162 Agreed... but I wasn't referring to just digging a single deep trough, but rather a "culvert" in the same way that sudden downpours of rain are diverted from city streets in downtown Hilo... and redirecting it away from homes & businesses.
@kansasthunderman110 жыл бұрын
A culvert is as useless as a ditch. Lava does not stay in a liquid state and it will accumulate and plug up the channel and the lava will just find another path.
