They were popular in the 80s , the stainless ones were sewn on . But if it was on tight it pulled a fair bit and could cause flaking at those areas . The clips are not bomb proof and can break over time . Another similar DIY hack is to cut velcro tabs and attach the one bit to the system and tape the other bit . That works ok no mess on system then . Fewer the tabs less the faffing . Not for everyone. as its not super flat on the scalp then.

i have plenty of bio hair still so im using systems with clips, ill still put some got2be or tape on the front when i feel ill need it (windy days, rollercoasters, etc). ill keep using clips till im really bald on the top

Very interesting topic. Would you ever consider trying one out for a bit and giving a review? Looks like it may be a good option for someone first getting into systems who doesn’t want to shave most of their top hair and higher side hair.

I think this may be the route I should consider because I don't intend to keep on the system 24/7 and when I don't need to wear the system I wear a baseball cap. My only worry is if it's really windy outside, the last thing i want is it to fly off my head or start lifting up lol..how embarrassing is that? One person suggested using tape in the front and also clips.

Yep. Could be the best selection for you. It won’t fly off as it has clips attached to your hair. Make sure you use a daily tape at the front like 1522

used clips in the past initially it is ok but then will give you traction alopecia.. and sore spots .. tape is the best.. 36 year hair wearer tried all attachments

No I imagine it would be uncomfortable. Best to use a daily tape on the front

No, you’d need to specify what size your balding spot is to Lavivid or whichever supplier you use

Daily no shine walker tape or I purchase a no shine tape off brand type. use knot sealer after every wash . Wash the piece once a week due to the fact i work with chemicals. Current piece is full french lace no poly. It is now the longest piece I've owned that is almost 2 years old. still looks good only dyed it one time. But its time for a new one, So i will get the same full lace piece half the front 5 inches will be bleached knots 100 percent density, 38 year hair system wearer@@HairSystemDIY
