Jakob is incredible..please come to Boston guys
@EricJh216908 жыл бұрын
Haha I'm from the Boston area too. I'd def see these guys if they play here. Can see Brad passed his musical/artistic genes on to his son haha that's awesome. Damn shame he relapsed when he finally got clean after failing many times; you could tell he knew the odds were against him yet wanted to stop so badly. Seemed like he found the happiness/motivation he needed to beat the addiction for good..between his sons birth/getting married/getting signed & recording the self-titled album. But I've struggled with opiates so I know it's SO hard to get/stay clean. I've been clean since Jan. '13 but I'll never be totally out of the woods, I could relapse even years from now and never get back on track again. It's hard for a many ppl to understand addiction and why it's so hard getting/staying clean; but it changes chemicals in the brain for life & you just never rly feel 100% normal again. Nvm how hard just the mental/physical withdrawals are. Just really sucks he couldn't beat it. Have loved Sublime since my dad showed me them as a kid (born in '90 lol)..Their music (& Layne Staley's) eventually helped/still helps SO much through my own addiction. Brad was so proud when he was born, I can't imagine how proud he'd be to see him now he's older & playing music. LAW has potential, hopefully a label gives them a record deal. I know he's trying to create his own sound/legacy, not just stay in his dad's shadow covering Sublime..But it'd be incredible if he'd do just 1 show with Eric & Bud, and record/release on dvd/blu-ray. Sucks Brad passed as Sublime just started gaining major commercial success, but the legacy/impact he left will live for many generations. Hard to believe he's been gone 2 decades, and crazy seeing his son's now early 20s & playing music himself. My bad for rambling, I tend to when I'm stoned esp. on YT haha.. RIP Brad Nowell, thanks for the awesome tunes you left us.

+EricJh21690 all of us from the bean were/still are opiate addicts man. that shit hit so damn hard here. I'm in recovery myself. born 84. sublime fan since 4th grade . also a huge AIC fan. if LAW ever comes this way you and I will have to link up
@EricJh216908 жыл бұрын
+L2TheFace Bars Yea the opiates are a huge huge problem around here..too many losing their lives to it. Glad to hear you got off the junk too, it ain't easy by any means but is so worth the struggles once you're clean. Too bad Bradley wasn't able to overcome it. I won't be surprised if these guys or at least Jakob find success in the music industry sooner or later. Especially these days with social media and things like youtube/SoundCloud; it's a lot easier to get your music out there and noticed than it was back when Jake's father was starting off haha.
@Vercingetorix.Rising8 жыл бұрын
+EricJh21690 as far as I'm concerned, I'm still trapped. I usually can get a few months between relapses. I've forgone the idea that I need to be clean forever, that's just slot of pressure. so I take the a day at a time. but ya man, Boston and the Cape are REALLY REALLY bad. we lead the country in overdose rates and addiction rates . I started with 80s back in 07, dabbled with beans, and then was banging dope for quite some time. got off dope after a few close calls falling out. the scariest time I dropped in a dope house I was running , and a fiend ran my pockets and left me to die. luckily the next customer showed up and brought me back, probably just cuz he needed his dope, but hey. I won't go back to dope. now I struggle with beans exclusively . but the way I see it, no relapse will cost me my life now. few months clean, relapse, few months , relapse .that's been my life the past few years . not sure I'll ever put it fully behind me. but I take what I can. it's a door, that once open can never be closed. best we can do is learn to live with that door open. I've always sold the shit, which makes it even harder . from July of last year until March this year I was moving so many that I was doing about 22 a day myself. outrageous, but when you have them in bulk like I did, it happens quick the day I cleaned up I realized I had done 17 by 1030 am, and said holy shit bro, time to chill the fuck out. best of luck man. don't put to much pressure on yourself , strive for being clean today, worry about tomorrow, tomorrow .

The sound of Jakob's voice in comparison to his dad's is IMMACULATE, and I cannot fucking WAIT to hear a new Sublime album. The only thing that I think makes Brad’s voice superior to Jakobs is that deep raw growl that you hear on a song like STP. Jakobs is just the tip where as Brad would really go balls deep.
