This is what horrible parenting looks like. They are prosecuting the parents to send a message that any parents who neglect their children and ignore their mental health concerns, will be eventually punished.

Honestly you are right...I didnt understand before why they were blaming the parents for what he did since theyre not the ones who pulled the trigger/tell him to do it. but after hearing all his journal entries and how he had literally BEGGED his parents that he realized something is disturbingly wrong with his mind....and yet they laughed about it and didnt do anything...yea, they were definitely neglectful.

Having grown up with guns (ranching family and they ARE necessary in very rural areas), it was drilled into us kids to have the highest respect for them. We were supervised, and there were major consequences for mishandling them. There were rules, and they were strictly enforced. We were not given the ability to use them until we proved & internalized that ALL living creatures are to be respected and protected. I wish he had grown up the same.

Does that even MATTER? This is a murder sentencing hearing. Potential synonym sentences are the least of the worries here. Maybe the judge has always said that phrase growing up and his brain automatically says it. Thats like if someone says "Hello" and you say '"I wish someone would tell them its not necessary to keep saying 'hello'. That its okay to throw in the word 'Hi' instead." Who cares? Thats just what their brain chooses to say lol.

I think ethn played his parents, and I believe he played the school staff as well, I believe he is smarter than many people think, and I know he pulled the trigger. He deserves life with out parole..because that's all michigan can offer. Live very close to Oxford, just north. Alot of people hunt, there fore. Need guns. Ethan played dad for the gun, and mom for the ammo. Left gun range early, saved ammo for school shooting. School should have had police in the office when the parents got there. He should of been searched as well as his bookbag. Lots of should haves would have saved lives. Ethan belongs in prison for the rest of his natural life.

My husband kept telling me I needed to do something about my depression and anxiety. .I had three different therapists within six or seven months. It was very stressful for me because I would get used to one therapist and then they would leave and I'd have to wait until they found me another therapist the I ended up in the emergency room because I was suicidal the ambulance worker tried to comfort me. I went into the hospital for suicidal anxiety depression and agoraphobia. I am now on a waiting list for 2-3 months, because there are so many people who are struggling with mental illness. I wonder if Ethan had a therapist who believed it was better to listen to what the patient is saying and doing, and offer more than taking pills. The side effects can be horrible. This kid is an attention seeker, Which is probably why he was a loner and constantly being a cry baby. This is why he decided to plan out his crime. He is fully culpable for his intended actions, and His parents are culpable for thier actions as well. Sorry bleeding hearts, The only difference between this kid and a serial killer, Is this Kid did all of his kills on the same day. He is a spree killer who was aritculating his reasons for Killing other kids, Because the government is corrupt and the school system is brainwashing students.
