But there are two points that you're missing the first one which attorney rightfully points out is how can you depict yourself as a victim when you basically allowed yourself to be forced to that on camera over and over again. There was nothing wrong with the judge. There was no evidence to prove that it was truly rape. Her "no" in the video with the two boys was no different from her "no" in all the rape porn videos she had done. Ergo, the boys, or at least one of them, was set free. It is a truly sick thing when justice isn't served, however, proof is everything when in the court room.

+Dahar Nazari yes well the law is the law, if you can't prove your case other than simply he said she said, then sorry you don;t have a case, people should not be convicted of a crime simply from "listen and believe" there has to be actual evidence and that is why the majority of rape cases are so hard to prosecute becasue there is always doubted evidence and a "he said, she said" argument.

Regardless of whether or not the young lady was an actress portraying a rape victim or a real victim, it did NOT give the defense attorney license to treat her with such blatent disrespect, whether he gets paid to be cut-throat or not. +rosieandmoka "Regardless of whether or not the young lady was an actress portraying a rape victim or a real victim, it did NOT give the defense attorney license to treat her with such blatent disrespect, " yes it does, in fact that's part of the job, the job of the defense is to tear part and or cast doubt on the story/testimony of the prosecution and it's witnesses, and vice versa, you may not like it but that's the way it goes. "It sounds like during the times when she was acting and when it happened for real she was saying no anyway, so the defense attorney was out of line." No he wasn't, the point is there is no proof and or evidence other than conjecture and accusation that her, "no" in this case was any different than the dozens of other times she said it, hence that the case boils down to her word it is true, and unfortunately your word is not enough to convict someone of rape, allegedly, people seem to not care about the importance of evidence and law and instead think everything should run on "listen and believe". god help us all.

If you can't handle justice done the hard and right way, then that's your problem, I'm sorry, same goes to your snowflakey upvoters. As long as the lawyers and the judge and the jury are doing everything legal, then it's all good. We don't have time for this new generation of snowflakey softness. The sad thing is the judge overturned her victory & tried to shame her for her decision to work in the sex industry & while I hated it, it was very accurate for this episode. Sex workers &people with kinks catch all type of hell for the public's biases & perceptions. Funny enough, it's the people outside those domains that don't understand things like consent, safewords & boundaries

Why do people dislike John Buchanan for doing his job to defend his client to the best of his ability, a defense attorney is suppose to be aggressive with the person who is accusing his client because they are paid to do that and so I am fine him going after if it is to help his client to be found no guilty, every defendant is USA and every will thinking has the right to have a good defense even if they are scum of the earth and guilty as sin, I love Delaney Williams, he is a very good actor and he does excellent work as Buchanan on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit SVU and he is the best.

Yeah, here's the thing about the end of this episode, remember Libby from Casting Couch, i think this episode took a little inspiration from that and turns out, Libby was never expelled from her university and she even finish her college and success to get her degree or want more 'brutal" one, Asia Carrera was member of Mensa club. So i feel she been dropped out from campus was kinda exaggerating

As insufferable as the defense attorney is, he's doing exactly what he was hired to do: undermine the prosecution's case. Attorneys get disbarred for telling witnesses to lie, for committing crimes like fraud, and a number of other reasons, none of which this attorney did. What he was saying was, "Even if my clients are guilty as sin, if I can cast this much doubt on the case, was it really that strong?" Most lawyers are actually very respectful, but this guy's shtick seems to be getting the answers he wants on cross by being a jerk. It's not a bad strategy, but it doesn't always work.

All I can say is...HOW DOES THIS DEFENSE LAWYER STILL HAVE HIS LICENSE TO PRACTICE LAW?
@NickCMedia10 жыл бұрын
Because he's a good attorney. Besides, there are hundreds of other defense attorneys like him (or worse) that still have their licenses. Buchanan, who has been a recurring defense attorney for the past *4 years*, did nothing that constitutes disbarment (let alone anything that constitutes a report to the disciplinary committee) throughout those 4 years.

+Dylan Parker the only thing he did was his job, as hard as it is to accept you have to convict people on evidence not just "listen and believe", and there was no support of her no allegation, there were no consent forms and or records to prove those other times were any different than this one, and there was enough reasonable doubt, that's how the system works and thank god, since enough innocent people get convicted under this system already, without turning the whole thing into, she says so so it must be true, evidence be damned!

I have to wonder about Bucanon as a person. We've seen over and over that he defends scum and acts inexcusably during trials and cross-examinations. But does Bucanon actually believe what he's saying? Does he actually want his clients to get away with rape? Or is it all a defense strategy? Even Olivia once said to him, "I know you're just doing your job." We've seen lighter sides of defense attorneys before. Does Bucanon have one? Will we ever see it?
@blakejames84175 жыл бұрын
Well he is doing his job tho, he’s a defence attorney not a district attorney/from the persecution. His job is to prove his clients innocence without knowledge of whether they actually did the crime or not to beyond reasonable doubt
@AlexKS19924 жыл бұрын
I hope you don't get charged with a crime because if you do you are going to need an attorney who will have your back. Say what you want Buchanan but he's a man who is doing his job. If I'm charged with a crime and if I need a good attorney get me one that's like Buchanan.
