I remember the follow-up episodes to the last hostage situation, where they think benson shot him because he used his left hand. I don’t know if anyone else noticed, but her left hand was handcuffed to the table or whatever she was next to. She literally could not have even if she wanted to.

This show could be frustratingly stupid. In the last case, there would never be this level of an issue. Had she shot him it would have been justified. But with all those cops seeing her restrained, the position of the gun would have confirmed the he shot himself left handed. Not mention she would be 100% justified in shooting him, so she has zero need or motive to lie.
