But that would mean that he would have to come forward and admit to engaging in prostitution, which is what he was hiding from his wife. She would then become aware of his activities and apparently that possibility was worth spending the rest of his life in prison, rather than admit the circumstances to his wife. I wonder what he’d choose to do now, if he were aware of how it would play out.

A lot of men do. some escorts require identification ahead of booking. I know a guy who would see escorts, pay them through venmo (on private) then continuously scour their venmo pages for other people who paid the girls, many of them left the transaction public. he'd then go to through their venmo to get as much information and figure out who they are. If they had a girlfriend or wife, he would blackmail them, but he would start off small with like a grand and then steadily increase it once the people were already invested. eventually it just gets too much and they stop replying, he never actually exposed any of them once they stopped paying though.

@@2sides_2everystoryNo, the girlfriend escort did not know. Her boyfriend got jealous and wanted in on some of that cash and since he wasn't a prostitute the only way he thought he could do it was to. Maybe the girlfriend didn't share enough of her earnings with him. The police even said it was the mail that was doing the extorting

Well, they shouldn't have been blackmailing him; the victims and the hitmen. The sidepiece broke the working girl's code and the hitmen broke the hitmen's code.

Wait he paid a million dollars and ended up in jail? He paid 150k then paid 900k over the course of a year or so? So they continued to blackmail him after hired them to “K” his blackmailer?

The man was wrong for cheating on his wife, but the couple had no business trying to set him up and extort him. When you do dirt, you better be ready to deal with the circumstances cause you may be messing with the wrong one! FAFO.

@@jakestroll6518 Nah. The message is "Don't be a cheater, and be careful who you associate with". Way too many true crime and murder trials tied into unfaithful people, or giving strangers too much agency over you. This is a life principal to live by for everyone.
