In 2011, 16-year-old Sabrina Zunich was placed in a foster home after her biological family was unable to take care of her. The foster parents, Kevin and Lisa Knoefel, were excited to take her in, until the relationship between Kevin and Sabrina became too intimate, and ultimately led to a tragic murder. The Decoder breaks down the twisted story.

I find it alarming just how many people are willing to give Sabrina a pass just because she was a victim of something as well. People, she stabbed someone... nearly 200 times! Think about that. Let that number sink in, would you? I've had a horrible childhood, absolutely dreadful. I'd gladly pit my childhood against Sabrina's, I think mine would run laps around Sabrina's childhood for pain inflicted upon the child. Yet, by the time I had reached Sabrina's age at which she killed her victim I already knew better than to... stab someone 200 times! She is exceedingly dangerous, regardless of what was done to her. For society's safety alone, she should've received life without parole. Because the fact she could bring herself to killing her victim over reasons so poor and in a manner so gruesome, well... no one would ever be safe near her. Would you trust your children with her? Really, ask yourself that before expressing sympathy for that monster.

She wanted to burn him. He deserved to be thrown under the jail. This is difficult because I see her as extremely manipulative. But he did abuse his “authority” in this case. He was supposed to be the ADULT in his life. Also, the wife was not shown ANY respect by her husband because she wanted her to move out. The wife had to know something inappropriate was going on.

I would have to hear more for me to make a final decision. They didn't find any direct evidence on any of his electronic devices or anywhere else that he was involved with the murder or his supposed relationship with the foster daughter. The accusation of his involvement was by the murderer, and only after she found out she wasn't going to get off the hook. The evidence is circumstantial, and she had a motive to lie. I just couldn't say he was involved beyond a reasonable doubt with the limited information provided, and a person is guilty until proven innocent. That being said, I am sure the evidence was much more substantial in the trial.
