@@miroslavhajduk1797 interesting, I played WoW from mid TBC until Legion, came back for about 3 months in BFA ans quit again, then did the first tier of Shadowlands, I think Shadowlands was probably the worst to explain (I havent played Drsgonflight hence the prelude) - WoD was completely reliant on playing previous expansions and the whole time split as we all know was ultimately a bad idea. Coming back to this comment after 2 years is interesting but I stick with my opinion that TBC is still the hardest to explain.

Been watching a lot of wow lore videos lately and I think yours are the best I've found so far. Paced really well, with enough interesting detail but not so much as to be overwhelming, and your narration and animations work well together to make it really easy to follow. Love the videos, it's so easy to get lost in the sauce of quests and loot, and not understand the storyline at all. Watched all the videos, and WoW has more weight to me storyline wise now. For a long time I was Warcraft 3 or bust in terms of where the story ended, and been frustrated with how it continued with WoW, instead of another RTS. This is a thoughtful and well organized straight to the point breakdown.

How do you know the lore. I played the whole BC expansion last week and read ALL(!) Quests! But i didn't get the lore. Is this all in a seperate Book?

The burning crusade is kind of a mess, honestly lol. Some of the info comes from warcraft 3: the frozen throne, warcraft chronicles, quest text- specifically raids and their quests (since most of the "plot" of BC happens in the raids), the sunwell comic book, the "Unbroken" short story, the "Blood of the Highborne" short story, and a bunch of fact checking with wowpedia.com + using that website to read in-game books (which also house a lot of lore). unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) most of WoW's story involves a bunch of out of game reading instead of it being conveyed easily through the gaming experience.

is it me or is it pretty much just handwaved that doomlord Kazzak re-opened the dark portal? how did he do that? what items did he use? how did he get his hands on those.... seems nitpicky, but so far the lore has been very detailed and consistent with the portal thing, often needing specific things like the book of medivh, the eye of sargeras, skull of gul'dan and in legion the scepter of sargeras. not just to open them but even to close them. yeah, the portal was closed for a bit of time but it seems a bit off looking back at he lore like this that kadhgar and his troupe went to such efforts to close the portal from draenor's side - pretty much sacrificing themselves only for this pesky little random-ass doomlord to pop out of nowhere (but was totally just next to that portal for all that time doing nothing trust us guys) and to tear the portal back open when the plot demands it. maybe thinking about this and being bothered by it is pretty damned stupid to begin with because kaelthas and illidan seem to have no problem hopping back and forth between azeroth and draenor around the third war era when it suits them despite the dark portal supposedly still being closed and making a new one should be almost impossible without very powerful being works together on both ends ...

i've gone thru this mental crisis a couple times when it comes to WoW lore lol. Something i gotta remind myself of when i'm working on these videos is that wow lore is made to justify why shit shows up in the games, and not what's best for characters. a prime example is "why does the last boss of karazhan drop Gorehowl?" and the answer is, because the devs thought it would be cool. i mean, Illidan was also a villain until they retconned him. It's all a big mess, and we just gotta chose which parts of the mess we're willing to ignore for the sake of sanity. but i FEEL you on this.

If Illidan is the lord of outland, why didn't he uses the fel orcs or the demons on the outland to help destroy the lich king? idk im so confused lol

the way i wrapped my head around it is, he just didnt have control of the fel orcs or demons yet when he launched the attack on icecrown. he didnt full control of the forces until after he retreats to outland. (the real reason is because Warcraft 3 just used naga and blood elf faction units already made for the single player and didnt wanna add others for just 1 level of the Frozen Throne)

I like Warcraft lore but I really wish they didn't recycle ideas and places so much. I know this isn't a new thing with the Warcraft storylines but it makes it very hard to recount events or even follow along. All throughout the history they mention "THE well of eternity" and "THE world tree" that always seem to be at risk of and/or being destroyed yet they never seem to run out of them... It's even the same with the worlds themselves like how many versions of "Draenor" do we need? The obvious one is how no one ever seems to actually die too. They've always got some way of explaining away a situation where someone was previously dead and it just gets tiring. It's hard to be impacted by the death of a character when you just KNOW they will be back in the next expansion. The infighting between races / factions is hard to understand too. You expect the "Alliance" to actually be allied with eachother, and the "Horde" to be one big swarm / hivemind. I kind of wish they would reboot it but it would just end up terrible so idk why I even said that. Oh and don't get me started on the villains. How many times are they going to do the Wizard of Oz "pulling the curtain back" trick on the main antagonist like for real it's comical at this point.

Only way I will be able to absorb all the information will be to visually see the most of the things. But I do understand that is allot more work and would either make the videos longer or require it to be split up into smaller videos or parts just to cover one game.
