I've got an ego 42" zero turn...mowed 27hrs & it started acting up, randomly stops the drive function. Something wrong with lcd or wiring. Ego sent a company to pick it up for repair, waiting on return. Approximately 11 days to get it back. I'm just glad they take care of it under warranty for 5 years. I like electric, it is quiet, no maintenance...just plug it in & go & sharpen blades like any. Its fast too, doesn't require full throttle noise like gas. Because I'm running renewable energy I will not have any expenses associated with it until I need batteries.

I had the E-Steer for about three weeks and returned it to Lowes -- mainly because the charger wasn't rated for outdoor use. But I also wasn't particularly impressed with the gauge of steel used in the deck and blades. Other than that it was a quality unit (I couldn't believe how well built and comfortable the seat was). I'm wondering why Ego doesn't offer a 6x10AH or 6x12AH battery configuration for the T6 (for folks with more grass to mow). Also wondering whether there's any traction control with the T6 rear-wheel drive (guessing not). The E-Steer wasn't very good in this department -- I quickly got it stuck on some 15 deg hillsides (and thankfully I still had a Cub with a locking diff to pull it back up the hill).

Nice video the only suggestion I have is to not have music playing when showing the mower operation. This is the first electric riding mower video I’ve seen and I know I’m not the only one curious about the noise level of the mower. My only problem with these mowers in principle is the battery packs don’t appear to be standardized, which means if the company goes belly up you won’t be able to buy new batteries and now your mower is junk. I really wish companies could get together and develop standards for this stuff and I believe that would benefit everyone including the companies themselves.

I was wondering if it was assembled incorrectly or missing a bushing or something. Also, I can slightly “lift up” on the steering wheel and hear the same metal clanking noise. All bolts appear to be tightened. Does your mower make this noise and can also feel it in the steering, especially on bumpy lawns. And before anyone asks, it’s not the deck that has its own acceptable noises. Any feedback would be appreciated!

great video Andrew, but Ego dropped the ball on some things IMO. They should have included bigger 10.0 or 12.0 batteries and have less of them like the Z6 42inch. Charger is also smaller Wattage, should only have the big 1600W one for all mowers. I tried that shifter at the store and it is very flimsy and won't stand the test of time. As I saw on other videos online, the battery compartment isn't sealed very well. I fear those stamped decks won't last long, Ego should only have fabricated decks for such premium prices.

It's a cool concept and would work well for small yards and places that may have a noise ordinance, however in the long run it's not very practical. The biggest flaw with the design that I see is the mower deck spindles. If you were to run over something that you may not see and damage the motors that would be a very expensive fix along with the wires that are hanging that power the deck could be easily destroyed if something were to catch on them.

@austinpatrick26828 ай бұрын
@@Kitearmy Generally your home-center decks like this are stamped with one homogeneous sheet of relatively thin metal. They then use cheap paint instead of a real powder coat and when it chips underneath and you don't painstakingly keep repainting it these decks take no time to rust through. Only a level of care that almost nobody is willing to give will make these decks last. However, you can go to real dealerships and you will find fabricated decks that are literally many pieces of thick steel welded together and powder coated. This makes them VERY tough and long lasting. If you think about it, it's the hardest working piece of the entire equipment, it should NOT be the cheapest!

Its 4k. And the batteries are 260 each x 6 that come with it. So the tractor actually costs the equivalent of 2400-2500 bucks. Imagine adding the gas cost of the mower all up front. Its not actually a bad deal at all. And the more you expand on the platform, the more it all makes it cost effective and long-term. Plus you can start buying bare tools once you get a comfortable amount of batteries, saving even more on cost.

@@marcusmobley5411 Yes, this tractor is expensive and one wonders how many years before you must replace the degraded or dead batteries? Is it 5, 7, 10 years? The battery cost should come down over time, but it's a costly tractor with unknown upkeep costs. My JD lawn tractor uses about 30 gallons of gas per season so that's about $100 and then I change the oil + filter every 3 years for another $20. My JD tractors have had near-zero mechanical issues for 30 years.

I wanna see it bag and more cutting not once along your fence and then sped up front Are they paying you cause it’s pretty brazen of you to say don’t worry about price just put it on credit card that’s really terrible to suggest to people with this economy

I was joking - I hope that all people budget appropriately for a purchase like this.

what is the deal with these ridiculously priced electric lawn mowers? a gas mower will literally last for 20 year if you keep up with the maintenance. there is no way the batteries will go even 5 years without some measurable degradation.
@Kitearmy8 ай бұрын
I can help you - no noise, no maintenance, no messing around with gas or oil, no fumes, always starts. But some people don't car about that. All I can say is that I have owned both, and I'm never going back.

Why do people who don't know what they are talking about comment and tell the world they don't know what they are talking about. 7 years with my ego equipment and I am just now replacing batteries. If I had not used my equipment on my sons yards, my dad's yard and friends yards along with the church's lawn, I probably would be using those same batteries for years to come. Btw, ego warrants the batteries for three years. If they fail, ego will make it right. I know, I had one fail prematurely. Great customer service experience.
