Hear me out, instead of a rock drain how about you do a creek and you pump water from the dam into the creek that will then flow back into the dam and then you have to hit over the creek. It will also catch all the water you’re hoping to catch from the hill I think that would look beautiful and would also serve the purpose of separating the two grasses.
@fergowise Жыл бұрын
It will also aerate the water before returning to the dam, improving the health of the dam. Maybe also stocking the dam with native fish.

I did creek on my pond, cut with mini excavator, placed a few large flat rocks in it to form ledges, pumped in a truckload of concrete over rebar, filled it with river pebbles, large and small - with a pretty big pump flows great, aerates the pond and the silver perch are thriving

This is a mad idea. And it'll stop the tiftuf going absolutely beserk - I can see the rock drain being full of couch in two years.

Broooooo you def have to do 2 bunkers!! Love this channel, it’s one of the only regular ones I follow. Keep going Ben! But 2 bunkers, one rivetted face at the front and a shallow rear bunker back left, is the way to go. Hello from Ireland, we’re enjoying our (limited) summer! 😂😂🥸👌

Good idea for the bunker placement and drainage ditch.

Agree with Kev re the bunker mate…good separation between fairways n green…could go Pinehurst natural look too in spots
@bspnhd5760 Жыл бұрын
I think you should still do a shallow bunker at the back plus the deeper one at the front. Will frame the green well and will still be playable even with the downhill slope
@Calzonii09 Жыл бұрын
I agree
@jimg.8020 Жыл бұрын
Yes! Bunkers!!!! I know the depth would be limited because the water can’t be that deep and drainage would probably be an issue…. But yeah! Sand practice area!!!! Keep up the good work!
@wesleycoutts6000 Жыл бұрын
I love the thought of the creek in the previous comment. I think you definitely need to have a mound in front with a wide open bunker just to give you the challenge of hitting over it. Plus the blind landing you could have at possible front pin locations. It would take your frame of thinking and hoping it’s “close” and not knowing until you get up there and see it. If you know what I mean..love the vids keep ‘em up! Much love from the Pacific Northwest. I still think it’s weird that here in Oregon where I live it’s 85-90 deg F and it’s winter there.

I forgot which hole or which course but I know I’ve seen the pga play an event where there is a green side bunker that is beach style…meaning there’s no break between the sand trap and the water that’s on the opposite side of the green. Build a big gentle sloping bunker that feeds all the way into the water
@damianeason666 Жыл бұрын
Great idea on the bunker, but i think the back needs a small shallow one still. The rock drain sounds like a great idea too.

Totally love the idea of running a “dry creek” down the hill @ separate the grass types etc It will look killer once that bunkers in (love Kev’s idea there too) 👍🏻
@wmvaux Жыл бұрын
I like the deep front bunker and I think you should also have a bunker back right to catch long shots and to be able to play bunker shots back up the green or short shots depending on hole locations.

Sounds good! I think bunkers look more natrual and play better if they have some contouring or humping to match landscape, as opposed to something like a kids sand pit

I like the rock drain but think you should have a green side bunker where the rye grass is now next to the river that will catch more balls and come into play more. The further it is away from the green the harder the bunker shot and the less it will be used. Basically why even have it then
@richardharwell Жыл бұрын
10°C. I thought you were wearing clothes for what was just around freezing..🥶🤣 That's T-shirt or sweat shirt weather but I'm watching from the Pacific Northwest..❤

Would be cool to see a colar mowed lower into green ryegrass surounds. LHC might help with transition from rye to bent

how do you keep a fine line between your 3 mil bent grass and the higher cut rye? Seems that over time, the bent would creep into the rye and vice versa.

Can you please dig your rock drain deeper. It kills me haha. If you have 300 rock dig straight down 300 then start your v drain from there. So 300 to 4 or 500, lay your rock then back fill the edge so top of rock is level with ground height. Thats if you want the water to follow your rock drain. Just a simple dyslexic civil bloke here so hope that made sense haha. Keep it up

If your in winter, raise your HOC to 4/4.5mm if you dont want to cut regularly. Instead of dressing the dip in the green why not bring the collar in.

I don't understand why you dont just cut those two trees down behind your green. there are more trees right behind them and you wont have the fallen leaf cover that smothers the green and fringe from light. so i wish you would cut those two down as they wont change the esthetic of the hole in general.
