It’s a dream of mine to see Lawrence of Arabia in 70mm even just once in my life. To me it’s one of, if not the only perfect film to ever exist.

Go to the desert in Jordan ..and feel the heat and meet the descendants , and the Bedouin in Aqaba……then just sleep out at night it’s freezing ..it’s awesome and hear the trains that still run through the desert been about 5 times …eat yoghurt and bread …you could even use a p@ckage holiday to Petra ..I did as a cover it’s cheaper then slope off …the first time ..hotel bed @nd shower if necessary 😉

Seeing this on the big screen, as presented on a 70mm screen at Nandan, Kolkata was one of the highlights of my cinema loving self. Albeit in digital, but the quality of restoration and its 8K scan was visible on the 80 foot wide screen, aplomb with gorgeous colors and visual blasts sequence after sequence, not to mention the evergreen acting of O'Toole

I just saw this 4K restoration on my home theater and I can only imagine the dream like atmosphere of the desert that audiences experienced in the cinema back in 1962. God they don’t make em like this anymore.

If you want to understand the middle east. Watch this movie you will also learn. How the state of Isreal had its origins as a British Empire European settler colonial project. I am not sure but think I may have to look it up that T.E. Lawrence was against it an white colonial settler state like in other parts of the British Empire being created in the middle east which he loved so much as it would be an affront to the arabs a people he admired a lot and was for the Palestinians and arabs gaining their freedom against the wishes of the political leaders in London who wanted a zionist colonial settler state created in the middle east.
