Gifted and graceful player. Garfield sobers said he had so much potential and holding rated him as the best west indies batsman. Rowe was more elegant than Richards, viv was more explosive. Such a shame that he had an eye problem.
@kunalsingh31212 жыл бұрын
Even Viv had eye problems in 1984 so did Lara that doesnt mean they got diminished.. Viv avg 50 for next 4 yrs even after double eye surgery..Some like Viv who relied on his reflexes that was big problem..

Fantastic player. Came to Australia and hit a great century in the second innings against Lillee and thommo at their best. Was averaging about 65 and had claim to being the best bat in the world at the time. Also scored 2 centuries during World series cricket and finished comfortably 3rd on the batting averages with 43 . Shame he couldn't go on with it but still played in the 1979 West Indies team which is arguably the best team of all time.

As Alvin the Great Kalicharran quoted "Brian Lara and Sachin Ten were great for their time" he meant a lot by saying that. To me the greatest batsmen were Sire Gary the Great Sobers, Frank Worrell, Rohan the great Kanhai, Alvin the great kalicharran, Sire Clive the Great LLoyd, Sire Viv, LAWRENCE ROWE, Gordon Greenidge, DLHaynes, Larry Gomes, because they played true cricket with gusto and bravery without a HELMET !!

Rowe had style and class over them, the type of player who could draw big crowds,, just watching him playing shots, I remember him batting with Viv, and the English commentator, ''I think it was John Arlott, said and I quote, he ''Rowe is out there for just under five minutes, and already one can see the difference in class'', this was comparing to Viv Richards, if you guys don't believe, too bad, most pundit said he is the most graceful and stylish batsman they've ever seen up until this day, Richards was one who thought so too, he could have been the G.O.A.T if he was not unfortunately allergic to grass and also eye problems,
