Lawson Blue Ridge hammock / Bivi - big enough for Big Guys?

I got one about 30 years ago and still have it. It is used when canoe camping. Two things I found to my disliking , 1... Spreader bar hammocks will dump your rear on the ground if you are not careful ( off center ). That is normal with spreader bar hammocks , all of them. After more then 60 years of hammock camping I should of remembered that. 2nd ... The rain fly cut off any visibility of the outside world. That can be avoided by using a separate , standard , tarp type , rain fly over the hammock. Backpacking I use a regular ( non spreader bar ) Jungle hammock since they pack smaller and are lighter. Plus I can lay on the diagonal in them with good visibility and ventilation.

Good points. Not much you can do about the stability issues, although the suspension angle can be adjusted to help. I like the separate tarp idea too.
