so there's a pretty good chance Adam is already Soulkilled, which would easily explain how Adam can be fighting Blackhand on the roof in the DaiOni, a special powered armor that can only be worn by a specific Alpha-class full-body conversion borg and takes like six hours to fire up and fully assemble, and simultaneously downstairs in his NovelTech Samson (NOT an Alpha-Class borg, meaning that he would have to jack out his biopod, get the Alpha-Class pulled out, jack back into the new unit, and then start the several hours process of putting on the DaiOni after about an hour had already passed) fighting Shaitan and killing Johnny Silverhand. According to Pondsmith's own repeated descriptions of the night of the AHQ disaster cross referenced with his own lore, the only way Adam's actions are logistically possible is if he's already FULL full borg, and an engram with multiple copies of himself out there. Consider if this is why the (Pondsmith approved) anime has Smasher ask David Martinez about becoming a construct.

Which is basically because of his modified version of the FBC named IEC Dragoon. The German megacorp IEC was the only megacorp able to produce such a powerful full body conversion - not even Arasaka was able to copy or build something like that. And after using the Samson frame and other body conversions, Smasher was finally able to get his hands on what we see in CP2077 - a modified IEC Dragoon. Regarding the lore you'd need a full Arasaka battalion (>1000 Arasaka soldiers) to equal the power of one IEC Dragoon.

This makes me think of something else. I never considered there could be multiple copies of an engram. I always assumed, by jacking in Alt into Mikoshi you're destroying everything including that copy of Saburo. But now... Damn there could be other copies of them out there. Didn't Hanako say Mikoshi exists in multiple branches of Arasaka?

When Alt was trapped in Arasaka. She fragmented into multiple pieces. Murphy shattered the pieces and hoped to retrieve them later. One piece becomes the 2077 Alt. I think Johnny is in pieces too. 2077 Johnny is one of these pieces. His memories are warped. Since he doesn't have the full picture. Johnny connects a few of the dots together. This is his truth. Though not the truth as we know it. If the pieces are brought together. I wonder what it would look like. Johnny would have to battle with three different sets of memories. The memories from the table top game. The butchered memories of 2077 Johnny. As well as memories as V's guide or fairy god father. It's going to be one big clusterfuck.

While I understand this is me being a pedant, it does seem pertinent with how misunderstood psychology is by a lot of people who are in the TTRPG world, but, ASPD, or anti-social personality disorder, is the term used by medical professionals to describe the spectrum of personality disorders that Psycopathy and Sociopathy fall under now, and while you can be "turned into" a psychopath, or sociopath, it is generally agreed upon that the causes of Psycopathy are genetic or inherited traits, that are triggered in people who are or become sociopaths, in other words, not all sociopaths are psychopaths, but all psychopaths are sociopaths.

cyber psychosis is predominately more to do with biological rejection rates and genetic predispositions towards addiction, violence and such. Yes heredity of neuro-divergency is a factor, but think of it more like a mind breaking roid rage, that leads to mania with a inclination toward extreme violence. the uncontrolled hallucinations are interesting..perhaps a form of dementia? No no that wouldnt be right.. subjects dont suffer short term memory loss, recollection is fine...associative agnosia? Perhaps a breakdown in perceptual model's? In the case of maine throwing a bunch of gas barrels around dorio's body, appearing like tree trunks, either he: 1) is unable to attach the correct mental model to the object, thus sees logs, instead of barrels 2) or he is full clocking out of reality, and during these uncontrolled hallucinations, sensory surface feedback is further feeding the hallucinations mental validity. Whats most interesting is that to my knowledge, no cyberpsycho reports include the subjects suffering tactile hallucinations..none "feel" things crawling on them etc when hallucinating.... Degradation to the cerebral cortex... Holy shit!! What if cyber psychosis affects the old brain?!?...sensory feedback, motor function, raised anger levels.. It all goes through there! the spinal chord..sensory overload in that area... Like an introvert... Its effectively making people chimp out and snap while hallucinating!!! Hallucinations cause the subject to temporarily disassociate from reality, and, like a sleepwalker...wake up the cyberpsycho....Overload! Panic! Mayhem! And You get a chimp brained, borged out lunatic screaming incoherently and lashing out with mantis blades because of animalistic survival instinct at a wrongly perceived threat! God damn.....not bad...😎

You seem to think Smasher wears the Dai-Oni armor all the time. That's incorrect. Per the TTRPG, he donned it just once, during the battle of Arasaka Tower in the fourth corporate war. As is seen in Johnny's flashback, at that time Smasher was a standard Alpha class Full Cyborg. Per the books, like Shaitan he had the biopod cyberware option. Which meant you could destroy his body but he would survive if the pod was retrieved in time. If you look through the TTRPG books, Smasher's body now is a amalgam of an Alpha and Dragoon Cyborg body.

I do not believe that and that wasn't what I was trying to insinuate. My apologies for not being more clear in the video, but I did say during that portion that the DaiOni armor wasn't what Smasher was normally wearing. It was a new appearance specific to the Blackhand battle that no one would be able to recognize. That power armor is practically a mech so it would be extremely unreasonable to wear it too often, and since it was Keis project it's research died with him

people who say that cyberpsychosis is this real, magical unique thing are ignoring the lore more than the others. just read the sourcebooks yourself. "cyberpsychosis" is just an easy shorthand for any dissociative and psychopathic mental illness that comes from a deficit in Humanity. You can lose Humanity in a lot of ways. You can just be born without very much of it, you can lose it from being a witness to or participant in traumatic events, OR you can lose it from installing unnecessary cyberware and voluntarily cutting your eyes out and arms off to stick 400x cameras and monowires and popup rocket launchers in them.

Thompson would be a great topic to get into. He's one of my fav conspiracies in the setting. Allegedly a Media, but when you look at it all together... Thompson''s the sole witness to Alt getting kidnapped, got Johnny involved who got the others involved, was at the AHQ disaster and recorded the whole thing but the tape never got out (so who was he taping for?), admits to being military trained and being in the 4th Corporate War, is generally the most obvious Militech plant you've ever seen (he's literally wearing camouflage and has a Marine high and tight in the 2020 sourcebook art), and on top of everything else, the RED sourcebook confirms Thompson is a fake name.

He is wearing a heavily modified Dragoon frame in 2077. It's assumed that support for the DaiOni kit ended with Kei Arasaka, and Mike pondsmith has said his new dragoon set is superior. Though it's obvious he has different "loadouts" for the Dragoon. Such as the one he used vs David Martinez. I consider his appearance in Edgerunners to be his peak. Extremely fast, somewhat agile even, and a hard hitter. A big difference to the clunkiness in 2077

One thing i find annoying about smasher is the misconception that he’s an unbeatable god who cannot be damaged/beaten in any way. The fight with smasher in 2077 isn’t just to convey to us that V is a cracked up cyber demon given human shape (though that is true), but it’s also to show that a skilled and determined solo with nothing to lose is going to beat Smasher. Especially if they’re just more skilled than he is. Blackhand shows us that message clearly, and V is thematically and narratively their era’s blackhand. there’s always gonna be a bigger fish out there, V and Blackhand happen to be the biggest ones we’ve seen. Or more accurately the best ones.

@@zerotodona1495 the canon ending is Path To Glory. Besides it being the most thematically appropriate ending - it's pretty much outright confirmed at this point. V, Lucy, and Song's endings all involve going to the moon. The sequel is codenamed Orion - after a constellation in space. The sequel's plot will likely entail who or what is behind the lunar black site, Blue Eyes, the Paralez's, and Project Oracle.
