It's fun to watch the video, see these wonderful places through your eyes, then read all the comments. What a gorgeous place, the mountains in the mist were stunning. I really enjoyed getting to tag along and see everything, and finding out the cost. By Canadian standards that was well worth the money. We barely have any train travel available anymore never mind high speed and buses only run once or maybe twice to other towns . We really need a Carty enjoy going anywhere these days😥 but hey, I can just watch your videos and get to learn about other countries and beautiful places. We’re having the first snow storm of the season today, there’s about a foot down now but it’s a peaceful storm, hardly any wind and there are big flakes just falling strait down. I took my cat out for his first snow experience😂🤣 he took off running until he realized how cold it was, it’s a light fluffy snow so was easy going . Then all of a sudden he just stopped with one paw in the air and didn’t move, he kept looking for somewhere to put his paw down where there was no snow. I had to go rescue him, it was so funny. Anyway, I’m glad your trip went well, can’t wait for the next one. Merry Christmas❄️🎄❄️🙋🏼

After I was no longer able to travel, my wife and her friends would sometimes fly/drive to a their destination, perhaps share a hotel room, but otherwise just do their own thing for most of the trip. It helped reduce costs, provided a bit of buddy-system security, but each person was free to do whatever caught their fancy. It's a hybrid option worth considering as a "best of both worlds" goal.

If you visit Nantou again next time, I recommend taking a bus to Sun Moon Lake and renting a bike to ride around the beautiful and scenic lake!! I went in early Feb this year and it was amazing weather and temp. I also love how simple the HSR system is because there's only 2 directions (north or southbound) and it's relatively fast to get from one place to another. I definitely still say cheap however because to me it is not a negative word. I’ll be sure to think about it more in the future !
