So much useful great information. The camera person needs a more practice as it was jumpy movements and blurry. . Thank you for the important information…nicely done.

Hi, I want to do a mosaic w smalti but I want open/ negative spaces between the actual design. Woukd you recommend i lay a thin layer of thinset first and then add more thinset on top where my design will be?

Thank you so much for the information. Especially like the tip about adding wellbond to thin set. Also looking forward to trying laticrete thinset.

I like your video, but when you were working the picture was at times on your face instead of your hands and what you were demonstrating. I wanted to watch your every movement as you worked and because I could hear your voice I didn't need to see your face. All of your videos are excellent. That is my only suggestion. Thank You for sharing so much of your expertise. It is also nice to see the face behind the company that I order materials from.

I do not understand what you are using mastic. It will be on the street?

Hi! Thanks for writing. If you are working on wood - plywood, mdf, etc.- you can seal the wood prior to mosaicing with a watery mixture of Weldbond and water (30%/70) Paint it all over the board and let dry. This will NOT seal your wood to protect it from the weather-- wood should only be used for interior mosaics- it gives the wood more 'tooth' for the adhesive to stick to and also prevent the wood from sucking all the moisture out of your thinset adhesive giving you longer working time.

It would be really nice if you could do another demonstration with better camera work. While it's nice to see your face, I really need to see the tiles as you press them in, and the camera needs to be as still as possible and focused on what you're doing. I love the baggie tip. I'll try it tomorrow. Thank you!
