Hidden (Helpful) ClickUp Features | ClickUp Beginner Tricks & Tips

It's the little things that take you from "beginner" to "intermediate" in ClickUp. Today, I'll show you a few of the more hidden features!

@@LaylaPomper loving it so far! Learning new things daily, and your videos definitely help! One thing I am still trying to wrap my head around is trying to make my views in each space look the same. When I switch from space to space, the displayed columns are sometimes different. I am learning how to create templates and this is helping somewhat! Other than that...just taking it one project at a time! :-)

Oh boy, that'll be a fun one! It's added to my list! Spoiler: I really have a love-hate relationship with all the CRM build-outs I've done in ClickUp. Without tasks being able to be in multiple places/lists simultaneously *and* having different logic for Custom Fields, the CRM capabilities are laughable compared to even free CRM alternatives. So, generally I recommend integrating with an outside tool (or just keeping these two parts of the business separate). But, it would be really fun to spell that out in a video, especially to spare others the frustration of finding out after they migrate all their data!

I found this video helpful. I just discovered ClickUp because a friend recommended it. I am currently using Tick Tick as my project manager. I believe ClickUp is more robust. However, a robust app requires more study to use it effectively. Thanks for all the tips!

I must say that towards the end, where you hover over a tsak or something and there is that "ghost" circle that is you click it it turns green... it was not clear what that does.... is it that I have to have that green ghost button clicked if I want general changes to be applied to them, and if I don't have them green they won't change when I make changes? But it can do more than just change the status if you feel so inclined! Hi, I have been watching clickup tricks and small shortcuts, just wanted to know about the CLIP upon recording the CLIP you can share while you can talk, and once done there will be a link, my question is will there be a list or folder of the recorded clips? Hey Leslie! Just getting caught up on comments🙈 Great question! Currently, there is no place in ClickUp where CLips are stored after recording. A Clip recording library is something that many users would like to see in ClickUp. I'll link the feature request here if you want to add your vote: clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/clip-recording-library For now, a workaround would be to create a List inside of your Workspace to store all the links to your Clips after recording.

If I were you, I'd probably use my ClickUp playlist(s) and KZbin's built-in view tracking. If you're logged-in when watching, it'll show a red "progress" bar at the bottom of each video you watch. In that way, you could use the playlist as your guide and the progress bar to know how far you've watched and then work through each that way! :)

Hey Troy! I just realized there IS another way I forgot to mention. I actually log most of my ClickUp related videos in my content vault and, within that vault, the KZbin "product" is entirely free. It would be at: processdriven.vipmembervault.com/ and just about every KZbin video is logged there. :)

Layla, new user to ClickUp. I’m working off an iPad Pro and an iPhone. I’m really frustrated with the fact that I can’t even see many of the features and selections that you highlight in your videos - HELP!!!!

Little bit of a bummer is that the loomlike feature is browser only I mainly use the desktop app.

I agree -- huge limitation. Generally speaking, the app(s)-to-desktop translation feels really messy right now. *But* based on the commentary I've been seeing on the roadmap, webcam recording (and, I can only assume Desktop recording) will be coming out in the near future. Currently I'm using Dubb (a Loom alternative) for these very videos. It would be awesome to have that all in ClickUp.

How to link one section or task in a space and send it to another section in another space. In other words, duplicate that line to show up in another space? I used that feature in Asana and can't figure out how it works in Click Up. (btw I have the paid version). I hope this question makes sense.

For instance, I create my poem under my "Poetry Space", but then want that poem to show up under the Planner section marked "July".

Hey Tiffany! It sounds like you're trying to have a Task (aka a Line in List view) show up in more than one place. For the longest time, this actually wasn't available at all in ClickUp but (lucky you!) it just came out about two weeks ago as a feature. To have a task appear in more than one location, you can follow these instructions: docs.clickup.com/en/articles/4193261-tasks-in-multiple-lists-clickapp Let me know if this answers your question! :)
