Unusual layout. I hope you don't get too much of a backache operating it! Imaginative use of resin buildings and card kits. It is a feather in your cap that you have got past 1000 subscribers! Thanks for uploading.

Thankyou Allen, yes it took a long time to get to 1K subs, not that I'm complaining. I think you have the Hornby Scaledale station building too. All the best, for 2024, I hope you run your Brighton Belle's again sometime.

@@melchestermodelrailway That must have been thought transference - I have got the Brighton Belle's out of the drawer with the idea of featuring them following on from the Class 205 demonstration!

Kudos to you for identifying Melchester with Thomas Hardy. My first thought was Roy of the Rovers! A fine layout - in a crazy way the roof trusses almost disappear when you concentrate on the details.

I manage to work around the trusses ok now, unfortunately something nearly every loft layout has to contend with. Thanks for watching, and reminding me about Roy of the Rovers!

Hi Chris. Subscribed to you for sometime now didn't realise your layout was that low. What wonderful layout you have, the animation is superb, it's photographic talent you have. Well done with the 1000 subs, hard to get to a 1000, only got 220 myself but only been vlogging a few months. Thank you so much for showing us buddy. DELPH JUNCTION (Pete)

Happy New Year and many congratulations on achieving your very well deserved 1,000 subscribers milestone. Melchester has a firm place in the list of my favourite KZbin model railways so I enjoyed your behind the scenes tour immensely. I hadn’t realised it was positioned so close to the ground. Nor, thanks to your camerawork, had I appreciated how compact the layout is. Very much looking forward to Part 2 in due course.

Well done on the 1000 subs, I am actually surprised you haven’t got more given the quality of your videos and layout. Its always good to see behind the scenes, so to speak, of the whole layout to appreciate how it is set up. We would have never know it is only 9 inches high, clever use of the space but you must spend a lot of your time on your knees. Thanks for the layout tour. Happy New Year. Mark

Hi Chris, happy new year. Congratulations on the 1K subs very well deserved. I love this layout and the huge amount of detail you have put into it! I'm also super impressed at your growing video production skills coupled with top notch editing and a lovely vocal delivery. I'd love to come and see this one day but it would be no good as my knees are shot lol how do you manage? Take care mate and here's to the next 1000. Mike
@melchestermodelrailway10 ай бұрын
Thank you Mike, and a very Happy New year to you too. How KZbin works is a bit of a mystery isn't it, it took a few years to get to 1k, then suddenly have put on a couple of hundred in the last 2 days! How does that work? I'm glad you are enjoying the layout and my video's, You're channel has been one of my inspirations and favourites since joining KZbin, as being a former professional railwayman, you bring some valuable insight and knowledge to the subject which is a great help. I manage scurrying around at ground level ok, setting up shots etc, but once that is done I operate the layout from a chair, with a nice cup of tea, so it's quite comfortable really.

Nether-Moynton or Cresscombe Halt seem like logical names for the other station.
@melchestermodelrailway10 ай бұрын
Nether-Moynton is a lovely idea, especially as there is a rather distracted (by model railways) preacher living in the vicarage nearby! I had called it Weydon-Priors some time ago, but never finally settled on anything.
