She’s hurting herself. Y’all don’t care or see that? There’s a lot of people that don’t hurt others but in the background hurt themselves. Cutting or suicide for example. But y’all only care when y’all see the scars or when they do off themselves. Y’all care after the fact.
@Brooklyntrash Жыл бұрын
@@whatzittooyah- that’s not quite true bro. Felicity isn’t hurting herself in the literal sense, like cutting herself or being deep into substance abuse. I think you’re wrong to accuse other commenters of not caring unless they see the scars, because most people- people of good will, at any rate - do care about people who hurt themselves. There are others like Felicity whose trauma runs so deep in her psyche that the intensive treatment she would need - if it’s even available to her - could do more harm than good. She doesn’t seem like someone who has completely cut herself off from human contact, and she is fully aware that her “family” is not comprised of real people. I do feel sorry for her, but I don’t know enough about her to say she’s truly hurting herself. People find their happiness in some strange ways; it’s always been that way and probably always will be. Many never find anything in their lives to give them reason to go on. Who’s really able to say she’s not better off than they are?

I agree. She spoke of what happened after her adoptive father died and she went back to her biological family. But what happened to her in her early childhood that caused her removal from them? Her adoptive parents (there was a mom in the beginning too) seem to have really loved and cared for her, and she adored them, but her life before she was adopted was probably a nightmare she might have buried deep inside herself.
@evangeline77x11 ай бұрын
Oh we don't do that in the US. If she's not an immediate risk to her own life (eg actual knife to throat clearly announcing "I'm gonna do it" level of risk) or others safety (and hypothetically if she was homicidal its a toss up whether she'd be taken seriously, completely ignored or just put in jail on a 72 hour hold), so as is she can't be committed against her will just for being a traumatized weird doll lady with strange coping mechanisms (and even if she wanted inpatient care there's literally no funding for that, the wait lists for charity care/state funded beds at inpatient psychiatric facilities are months long and usually only going to priority cases like people with severe psychotic disorders or those with chronic debilitating depression/sepukku thoughts who keep actively harming themselves). Though she technically does have access to some mental health resources (assuming she's living at or below her state's poverty line and qualifies for free insurance, or if she makes just over poverty wage and can afford low income insurance through her state, but that's assuming she lives in a state that didn't opt out of the affordable care act) but even if she has "access" to resources she may not have the ability or funds to get transportation (depending on where she is it could be an hour or more drive to the closest clinician that accepts her insurance) and the available resources are pretty limited most places. She'd get an assessment, a referral for medication (hopefully it is covered by insurance) and she would be lucky to have an hour long phone session once, maybe twice, a month with a certified counselor (not a trained psychologist). So, it would be extremely difficult to get any meaningful care for recovery in her situation. She's just disabled enough that she is not capable of operating within the established social structure or maintaining a job outside the home or forming relationships; but at the same time she's not so disabled she isn't capable of living independently and caring for herself. Its a weird limbo a lot of neurodivergent young people are finding themselves in and there is no infrastructure to support them, they're just left to figure it out... America is kinda whack like that.

I could be in my bed, living an adventure in space, or riding a horse or climbing the Kilimanjaro. It took a few years, but i'm finally really happy for the first time in my life! It's been 2 years now and it's just incredible! It's sad she probably won't experience this, but she can't be forced, she has to be ready to take the risk of being hurt again. How did you get out of that mindset and start living, going out, making friends again? I’m kinda in a same situation 😕 I went through a really rough period in my life. I had what I would consider a successful & perfect life but wound up getting addicted to opiates. It took awhile but by the grace of God I’m now sober and doing better. However, I moved to a new town and I don’t really have any friends here, I work from home so I tend to stay at home a lot. I feel like I literally forgot how to make friends, socialize and even talk to people (pandemic locks downs definitely exacerbated that.) Your comment gives me hope though & I’m curious what worked for you. Sending you lots of love & light ❤
@sophielegay4104 Жыл бұрын
@ediesaffron3593 So sorry you're going through that... I had a lot of support, not by my family (they're not good people), but by the French healthcare system. A nurse was coming to see me at home every 3 weeks to help me manage my health (like take appointments for a dentist, gynecologist...). She helped so much! I also had someone to help me every 2 weeks (putting the trash away for example) she wasn't a cleaning lady, she was helping me do things. Both of them were like psychologist, very, very nice and genuinely trying to help. I was also helped by a mental health center (psychiatrist, psychologist, nurses) who offered socialization groups : expressing your feelings about a photograph, going to walk dogs in the local center for pets without homes, writing about certain feelings, etc. I wasn't a fan of all these activities but I can see now that it helped a lot. That made me talk even when I didn't want to, even if I didn't knew what to say. The other participants where here because they needed to too, so people didn't really judgee, I hope! In parallel, I worked a lot on my various trauma, I read and watched videos A LOT about narcissism (my parents and my brother are clearly narcissists). Seeing/reading other people could make it out helped a lot. And I learnt strategies to not get hurt by them anymore... Or not being hurt by myself! I recognised what dissociation was and realised I've been dissociated most of my life, I know have strategies when I feel I'm going back to that state. That helped so much! All of this took years and it wasn't easy but it is doable. Touching rock bottom was actually what saved me. I don't know what trauma you had (maybe you got addicted in the hope of getting out of your traumas, or maybe you got addicted by accident), but you should try to learn as much as possible about psychology. Maybe you'll see something that could help you. In parallel, you have to force yourself to go out and meet people: group activities like sports, arts... Anything that will force you to socialize even if you don't like it (I can't tell you how many times I was laying in bed unable to find a reason to go). Also, don't rush into dating, you need to heal yourself before being ready to live the disappointment but also the happiness of a relationship. I'm now in a great relationship but if my girlfriend met me before I know it would have ended badly, I was too insecure, I would have needed her in an unhealthy way. Send me an email if you want to ask more questions, I would be happy to help.

Once that bit is done, move another three inches up the same section, holding firmly above the section you’re brushing (so that you don’t just pull the hair out of the wig). Reminds me of being in Miami International Airport seeing a little kid carrying around an actual Chucky doll like it was a freaking teddy bear. It got on the plane with us. Just no.

Honestly sometimes coping mechanisms are weird, as long as it helps her that’s all that matters. I have this stuffed animal, I’ve had it since I got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes & I’m attached to it because of that. I remember I lost mine & I was so upset about it that my parents had to buy me an identical one

Honestly, if I have to be honest, I think this is a good way of coping mechanism from trauma. Why I said that because as long as she is happy and she's not hurting herself or anyone else, then I think we should leave her alone and let her be happy since she did go through trauma

Ugh, the people who say "well they had a traumatic past" or "they're depressed" to excuse this behavior worry me. Like, no. There is something very wrong here and they need proper help, not encouragement/excuses in unhealthy behaviors.
@crazygamer_1082 Жыл бұрын
No duh she clearly needs intense therapy. God only knows what people have done to her. But if having creepy dolls and pretending they’re real brings her comfort for her trauma what are you going to do? Shame her for finding a coping mechanism? All you’re going to do is push her down further. Nobody should encourage nor enable her. But to just accept that someone does something isn’t excusing the behavior. And again, unless she hurts herself or someone else. She can legally decide if she wants help or not. What are you going to say to the police? “Uhh yes, sir. She does sleep and think her dolls are alive. Does she have a functional life and can clearly care for herself? Yes. Is she hurting herself or others because of the dolls? No I don’t think so?” 😅

there are a lot more harmful ways to cope. It's just that society deems alcoholism as "normal."

@crazygamer_1082 I'm so sick of this lazy, "it's not hurting anybody" argument. Why are you shaming them for pointing out that she needs help, and then go "no shit, Sherlock"? Clearly nobody in the comments thinks this 'cuz they're all like, "wow this is so cute! 😍", and, "she's happy and healthy". I mean, you're basically saying that people shouldn't try to get her help because it's "up to her to decide". You do realize she probably doesn't know that she needs help, right? That's how mentally ill people are; they think they're okay when they're not, and you're just like, "well it's her choice, so who cares? 🤷" Yes, its her choice, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try. And yeah, no shit people are going to "shame" her for having a coping mechanism, it's called she's mentally ill and she isn't coping properly, or rather, healthily. Pointing out that something is wrong with someone doesn't drag them down, keeping that fact from them does. If you don't point out people's flaws or issues, they'll never learn from them or learn that it's a problem. People who care don't hide that from people, they tell them. And I love how this whole situation is practically a joke to you. Like, no, she can't take care herself, because she's overweight, and she doesn't have a functional life if her life is being married to two dolls, and having a collection of doll kids, because she is mentally ill (again, can't take care of herself), and is unhealthily coping with trauma. 🤦
@Swan999 Жыл бұрын
@@NopeihaveNoNameThere are a lot more unhealthy ways to cope. I don't think this is necessarily unhealthy. Imagining and playing with dolls isn't hurting herself or anyone else. The argument can be made that she is using this to isolate, but we don't know if that's what she is doing. We also don't know if she is going to therapy or not. If she went to therapy the goal shouldn't be to take the dolls from her or try to stop any of the behaviors with the dolls. The focus of therapy should be the trauma and what she wants and needs out of life. She is doing very well. She went through trauma but she still seems to be functioning. She looks well dressed, she has housing, food. She is self aware. She's able to express herself and what she feels. I think this makes people feel uncomfortable so they want to stop the behavior. I think that any therapist worth their salt would treat the trauma and not try to stop her from using her coping mechanism This isn't what "not being able to take care of herself" legally looks like. There is a standard for that. She would have to be a danger to herself or others. She would have to lack the mental capacity. She isn't causing bodily harm to herself or others. She grooms herself. She cooks for herself. She can drive herself to a restaurant. Being overweight is not something that proves she meets criteria for forced treatment. Neither does living with her dolls and marrying them. Neither does isolating. If gat was the criteria many people would be deemed unable to make choices for themself. She is not having the dolls tell her to hurt herself or others. The dolls don't cause her distress, fear or pain. None of this means she can not take care of herself or isn't functional.

Im far more upset that it is a CHILD doll, than a zombie doll. If this was a man being intimate with a child doll, there would not be hundreds of supportive comments stating what a sweet person he is. This is messed up and wrong.

Ya know, I gotta tell ya…. I have collected dolls and stuffed animals throughout my entire life. I literally sleep with a few of my “stuffies” at night. I am engaged,been married and have 6 children. Sooooo….. I recently started therapy at 43 yrs of age from past childhood trauma, not like petty trauma, like my dad beat my mom and shot her in front of me trauma along with soooo much more emotional and physical abuse…. Anyways,the therapist just told me about a month ago that the reason I collect dolls and stuffed animals because it’s my “safe” space in life. So basically I collect these things due to this being how I cope with my trauma. I live a full productive successful life,but I collect things that make me comfortable. What does it matter? As long as this woman is happy and this is how she handles her past trauma,let her be!!! Shoot, I literally bought several dolls ranging from 600.00 - 1,600.00 that look like real babies AND yes, I do have zombie babies. Trauma can fk you up, even if you don’t realize it. But my kids are raised, my bills are paid and I’m living life ,MY LIFE just as she is hers. ❤❤

Using them as items like that make you feel safe is different from being s3xual with them especially with the ones that look like children just because this is a way she copes doesn’t mean it’s okay some “coping mechanisms” are unhealthy and this is one of them I hate to be the one to tell you
