After my husband had his meltdown over his chair and left the house, I oiled the moving parts and it’s working fine. 😊Thank you for your video.

Yep, that was it. A few drops of 3-in-1 oil did the trick. Thank you for taking time to make this video.

You are welcome. You using 3 in 1 oil was a good idea.

Thank you for sharing this video. Was afraid I'd get my fingers caught or something worse. I used a crescent wrench on the square tube which helped release the tension. My chair was buildtin 1990 and I love it - still!

You have 81 likes, so in my mind, 81 people just fixed their Lazyboy's and I'm one of them. Thanks.

Thank you for your vid. It's the wire piece/part that has snapped on mine... The wire part that you pointed out towards the end of vid and said it might be broken and jam up into the area above it. What is that part called? Do you happen to have a part number for it? Thank you
@fromcarstocomputers72617 ай бұрын
I do not know the part number but if you told the people that work at a Lazy boy dealership where it is ( or take a photo on your phone ) they could get the part. For that matter your recliner might have a lifetime warranty on that part.

We just bought two new Lazy Boy recliners with the mechanical handles. We had too many problems with the power chairs. My wife's chair has too much tension on the foot rest. When she uses the handle to lower the foot rest, it slams down making too much noise. I adjusted the tension on the spring but was only able to move it one hole (no more left). It is slightly better but still too noisy. Mine is smooth and quiet. Any suggestions? Thanks!

There are ways but I would not do it to a new chair. The best thing ti do is when you go to let the footrest down, just keep your weight towards the back of the chair and move the handle forward at a slower pace ( don't let it just snap to the end at the second half of movement ) by doing this you soften the noise yourself. and as an added bonus the chair will last a lot longer as well.

On my electric chair the foot rest get bound up on the right side about 3/4 of the way down

Can you explain that “wire” that is connected to the rotating shaft and the pawl ? That wire is broken on my recliner and I don’t know where to purchase one.
@fromcarstocomputers7261 Жыл бұрын
The "wire" is a stiff metal. I think Lazy boys has a lifetime warranty on their parts. ( They would charge for labor but you might install it yourself, it would be worth a call to them to see what they say. Ps try to find the label of you chair with the model number so they know what part to look up.
