Lazy Saturday Brunch | Failed! Soufflé Pancakes + Gardening

Hi guys! We tried to make Japanese soufflé pancakes for brunch, but failed😂(I think it's because the meringue bubbles have deflated.) Then we squeezed lemons🍋, made juice, and enjoyed a lazy Saturday morning. And Sutan is introducing the plants on our terrace! Have a great weekend💓

Try adding a small amount of "cream of tartar" (potassium bitartrate) to your egg whites to make the meringue stiffen up quicker and hold the texture longer. Souffle pancakes are difficult but fun to attempt.

I love how Moe tries to be patient with every mess that Sutan makes while helping her, because many parents tend to get angry when their children make mistakes without trying to aknowledge that it is the child's first experience, and of course it doesn't have to be perfect. Even adults make mistakes when doing something for the first time.

Poor Sutan had to give up from sifting because of the mixer's noise and needed to cover her ears to muffle it. I think the egg whites needed to be firmer to the point they form a steady peak to make a successful soufflé. But Moe san didn't wanted to annoy Sutan with that noise for so long. Anyway they looked delicious and the whole experience was delightful. Thank you for sharing!

Oooh, I love making anything souffle! It's so difficult to keep the bubbles inflated after cooling them down as a desert. I haven't yet successfully made a souffle cheesecake, but I still love how it tastes afterwards.
