7:06 "I'm almost more fond of the incomplete demos"... It certainly didn't help that most shareware-focused companies tended to put their best material in the demo\shareware version, with the full game often feeling like kind of a letdown. Not always, of course. But too often.

@@mcFreaki Report SCP-LGR Observations [DATA EXPUNGED]/12/18. Researcher: Dr. Silverstein Notes: SCP-LGR was drugged and taken to a mockup of their house in facility [DATA EXPUNGED] where they were left with a modified version of a game they had shown a lot of respect and nostalgia for, filled with Christmas references. Upon noticing the game box on the desk, SCP-LGR immediately started recording a video about the game in the style of the KZbinr [DATA EXPUNGED] during the editing of which, he seemed completely unable to recall playing it, but knew enough about the game to make a full video. Unfortunately, during this process [DATA EXPUNGED] thus creating a new SCP-LGR-1. This, however, was the first time that the creation of an SCP-LGR-1 was recorded, proving the theory about the process being completely unnoticeable to SCP-LGR himself, who appears only vaguely aware of the very existence of SCP-LGR-1 at times. Any new instances of SCP-LGR-1 are to be used to test against other SCPs, as was decided after an SCP-LGR-1 escaped and managed to make a full review of SCP-687 while showing none of its usual side effects.

For me, I think enjoying the demos more than the complete game was mostly because the screenshots of new enemies and levels let your imagination fill in the blanks and make things more impressive then they could ever be. Monster Bash showed enemies like a witch with a bazooka, a monster plane and a troll and I'd spend time thinking what their attacks would be like and how they'd behave in game.

I fear this may not even be his final form, I theorise that clone Clint will surpass us all in terms of physical and psychological strength to a point where we will be powerless to stop him, and that he will enslave the whole of humanity for all eternity, damning us to lives that consist of nothing more than reviewing old Christmas games. Our only chance of survival, and the only one capable of defeating him in his current state is the original Clint, who has been confirmed missing for the last few days, likely to have been kidnapped by the clone if this video has any validity. It is estimated that we only have until new-years-day to free Clint and form an army against the clone menace. May God have mercy on our souls.

"I'm almost more fond of the incomplete demos than I am of the full versions of some of these games." Yeah I can understand that, I remember the Starcraft 1 demo which was specifically designed to tease you with new and powerful units like the goliath and the firebat. Playing that demo it felt like anything was possible in the full game and it could stretch out to an unknown distance in any direction, I'd see a goliath and a firebat and think about what stronger units could be in the full game. I still love Starcraft 1 but nothing could live up to that infinite seeming mass of charged potential the demo handed me.

I have the exact same feeling in regards to demo's vs full games, since I also only had access to the demo's back in the nineties. The thought of ever owning the full game had such a bigger impact compared to when I finally got ahold of some of the games in full version. Like with One Must Fall, I lusted to try the Pyros bot and flails, after only having access to the initial three, but when I finally got it, it didn't have the impact I would have thought. Oh well. The demo fondness definitely resonates with me, when I got my OG PlayStation, it came with the demo disc #6, teasing what actually turned out to be great games, such as Crash Bandicoot 2 (the first snow stage which actually behaves like an introductory stage considering it's the second one in the full game), Tomb Raider 2 (the first half of the first level, that darned tiger killed me more times than I remember), Gex 2, Bloody Roar and Hot Shots Golf. A year later, my sister who lived in the US at the time brought me a Pizza Hut demo disc that had even more amazing games, like MediEvil (one of my absolute favorites from the PS1), Metal Gear Solid, Crash 3 and Tomb Raider 3. I either bought, rented or ended up playing all of them, but without magazines or TV shows covering PS1 games, demo discs were a godsend for me. Even on PC, I have more fond memories of playing the Quake 3 demo than the actual full game!
