Oh and hey, as a fellow new Ryzen owner - one of the things I found most amazing about having *so many cores* was that, I can actually do other things while rendering now. Even if all the cores are in use, I guess there's enough leeway among all of them that you don't even notice it while browsing, watching videos, or even playing some less demanding games, *while* rendering a video or in Blender or whatever... It's nuts. My old 4c/8t system was slower, sure, but it also literally was completely unresponsive when doing anything like rendering. I had to just get on my phone and wait because I couldn't even watch YT at the same time. On my new system, I sometimes literally forget I'm rendering something using 24 cores in the background. @Mythricia19884 жыл бұрын
@@paco3523 Of course setting process priority to low did help, but that's not really what we're talking about. The difference was is still massive, because priority or not there's still a lot of stalls from context switching. With more threads, you don't have to change the priority in the first place - and both the main task and the background tasks run at full speed and responsiveness, something that is certainly not true for lower thread count CPU's, because, well, the resources simply aren't there.

@@danijelujcic8644 I thought of that too, but discussing about this on Reddit with far more intelligent people than me, there are 2 problems.
