Hoz Shafiei didn’t seem to know what a trade deficit is, he seemed to get it confused with a budget deficit. Selling weapons to foreign countries is actually beneficial to a trade deficit.

It's beneficial to the military industrial complex, which make their money from restocking arms domestically as they're sold off to foreign countries internationally. The arms lobby has a massive place in our British political system and we need to get that money out of politics.

I agree and I'm talking as a LibDem member here. I'm on the social liberal/social democratic wing of my Party. Even in areas where I didn't agree I liked he didn't talk rhetoric or debase to shouting. Very balanced, calm, analytical and just diplomatic in his manners. Honestly, when soul searching I did consider the SDP but I just didn't agree with their lgbt and social conservative stance. I find myself in agreement with most of their policies but I just think they've gone a bit too far down the culture war rabbit hole for my own liking at least but honestly he seems like a genuine, nice and articulate guy. I'd love to interview him for a LibDem affiliated magazine that I write.

A social democracy LibDem here. Thought the Heritage Party was absolutely awful. Definitely wearing the tin foil hat too much on Russia and the whole LGBT views was just abhorrent. Quite abrasive and reduced to Sunak talking over tactics. Thought the TUSC guy made some sense, a bit wobbly but I don't disagree with his assessment of things and is nice to have someone contextualise the systematic problems that run the root of our problems in society. Like he didn't debase or SDP Guy I really liked a lot. Didn't reduce the debate down to shouting, very articulate, well balanced and very analytical. Honestly, I wish he wasn't a small c conservative on the lgbt/trans/culture war issues although again he was balanced, calm and didn't debase to rhetoric on the panel even if some of his Party leaflets suggest it sometimes as I think I would rate him as a future potential leader either in a growing Party or another Party. I found a lot of agreement with him. Workers Party guy really disagreed in his assessment on the first topic, I sort of understand what he meant by the Ukraine thing but then it drifted to apologist and tinned hat theories about us engaging in war. The LGBT I know some members, the Party policies and Galloway has spoken unfavourably of lgbt but was very surprised how well he spoke to against the Heritage guy so that's perhaps opened my mind of some of its members and thought he did well.

Why do you think the heritage party was awful? Everything David said about Ukraine was 100% true, and you simply don't hear that elsewhere. Where was the moderator when CIA funded Ukrainian football hooligans were throwing russian speaking elderly women protestors out of the 6th floor of buildings through the windows, and beating to death those that survived the fall? Disgraceful moderation
