Labour has won the General Election.
Rishi Sunak conceded defeat in the General Election after winning his seat in Richmond, Yorkshire.
Labour and the Lib Dems have both taken seats off the Tories as former Justice Secretary Sir Robert Buckland became the first former minister to lose his seat after Labour took Swindon South.
He has been followed by Defence Secretary, Grant Shapps, Justice Secretary, Alex Chalk and Leader of the House Penny Mordaunt.
Labour is on course for a landslide, according to the exit poll projection, with 405 seats.
The Conservatives are set for 154 seats. It has become the worst result since 1832 for the Conservatives.

It's not so much that Labour won, it's just as much that the Tories lost. Ok, so Kier is in the driving seat but I implore you all to let him know that he didn't get there solely on his stewardship. I fear that, while Labour won the election, Reform UK split the vote of right-wing voters, which might have been one of the factors that contributed to the huge Labour win. However, if Reform UK is in second place in many places now and if the Tories are increasingly fading into obscurity, it might mean that Reform UK could be filling that void in the 2029 elections and so this is no time for Labour politicians to rest on their laurels. Reform UK are fascists and far-right reactionaries who need to be defeated politically and be kept out of power.

Low turnout. An empty victory for Labour. The Labour vote in Wales was down. Labour vote up in Scotland as SNP collapsed. And Reform split the vote. See what Labour does with the economy , the NHS , rail fares being fair - and nationalising the water companies ......
