I find it so hypocritical when English people talk about integration. When they go to other countries they never blend in, in fact they form their own communities, try to change local laws and then expect everyone to happily follow along. They could live in Japan and Spain for years without ever learning the language.
@TheSMILINGJOE Жыл бұрын
Not strictly true - but it depends if they go to work or to retire. Unfortunately learning a new language as an adult takes years of effort and money, and more importantly, the right attitude.

What do you call someone who speaks three or more languages? Multi-lingual. What do you call someone who speaks two languages? Bilingual. What do you call someone who only speaks one language? English. A bit harsh, but kinda funny.
@moj1338 Жыл бұрын
Jazzip, you are 100% correct. I was born in a Middle Eastern country where my father worked for the Oil Company. The English who worked in the oil company (and earned twice as much as their counterparts who were the citizens of that country) not only never learned the language, the culture, etc but they made everyone else learn English, celebrate their holidays, play their sports, etc. When I hear people complain about immigrants who still wear their cultural dresses in England, I remember how the English never changed the way they dress in my native country.

Heartbreaking that some people are so poor that children are asking to take scrap ends of spuds home because their parents are so skint that they can't afford to buy some decent food for their families.

Luckily, there's a clear 13-year trail of devastation showing who's to blame for the situation

@@TBakerXD I'd say the trail of deviation goes right back to the introduction of austerity back in 2008. It's just that the current crop are even more depraved than Cameron and his sad bunch. Interesting to note however that Sunak was a key player that resulted in the banking collapse. It seems that he just can't stop shafting the British People 🤑😠🤑😠🤑 🤬🤬

@@markcraine4213 I'm assuming you're too young to have lived through the Blair era - if you had, you'd remember that the economy grew by 2.4pc a year, there was record employment and inflation was kept on target at 2pc. The only caveat to that was a world economic disaster started in the US that no-one could have prepared for. So tell me how they made us worse off financially?
