Thank you for the review! This pack has been my edc for almost 4 years. I've done 3 day camping trips with it, carrying all of my gear + food. I've carried over 60lbs in it while rucking, though not comfortably. On and off motorcycles, in and out of vehicles and with way more weight than it was designed to carry and still hasn't even so much as busted a stitch. Bulletproof is one way to describe it, but no, this is Marine proof. I have a lot of packs but this is the one that gets used every single day. It's worth every penny of your hard earned money. My only complaints about it are that it doesn't carry well if you're not carrying much, as there isn't much organization. If your edc is just a laptop, water bottle, gummi bears, speedos and charging cords, this might not be the pack for you. If you want a pack you can live out of and will last for the rest of your life, this might be the one.

I think you've summed it up pretty well there SE. I find this pack always surprises me when I grab it to go out walking. Having quite a few bags that arer always getting tested and reviewed, it's grea to grab a bag like this and stuff some stuff in and get out... Maybe some Haribo instead of Gummy Bears 😀 Thanks for watching and commenting. I have you're well and having a great week

The weird shape of the 1476: The lower part of the backpack is intended to fit a little sleepingbag/bivvy, without interfering with the main pocket! Its truly amazing how much that little space can handle.

There is a company called Blackhawk that makes a copy of this bag. Both LBT, Blackhawk, etc. Were contracted to make this kind of gear for special forces teams before, during, and even now after the war on terrorism. In military packs, it is desired for the weight to be placed low on the back, and the use of hips to carry the load. This is done for stability, while on patrol. (Skip the USMC molle pack as it is a nightmare to use) I have a copy of this bag, and it is shaped that way for storage in a vehicle, so it does not flop around, it also is meant to use a hip belt which is why the bag might be uncomfortable.

The rucksack is a similar to my 35 litre Dutch army grab/3 day assault bag which is availbable in surplus stores at around £35.00. I picked mine up in near mint condition, except for the typical storage military smell, which thankfully has almost gone. The quality is good but I now find it a little too big for my emergency kit which I carry in the car and which I am trying to minimise. However it makes a great overnight bag and if I sell it I'm sure I'll regret it.

Hi David. I didn't realise that was where this design came from until I made this content. I think Helikon Tex also make a similar version too. Always good to see that these one designs are still used today... a nice piece of history

Savotta really has the best most comfortable waist belts and they are just webbing without any soft materials but the packs in that volume range have small and soft pillow shaped padding on the backpack itself that uses the belt just to fasten in at your body and idk why it’s working so great but it’s the best system for my body to take stress from the shoulders without interfering my feeling of freedom thats often hindered by warrior belt like waist belts.
@MoorlanderEDC3 жыл бұрын
Hi DoC. Savotta is a brand I'm been meaning to test out for a while now. All I've heard is good things about that. I think as I like a balance of outdoors as well as EDC the JÄÄKÄRI 20 or 25ltr looks great as a cross over pack for week day chores and weekend adventures. I think LBT really knew they hadn't spent enough thought on this waist belt, or else they'd have done something more permanent. It's almost as they said 'Meh, this will do... but if we leave this large 2 in D ring, people can fit on their own". It's strange that they even added it really. Hopefully one day I'll have a Savotta piece of content here. Hope you're having a great week my friend

you could make some straps and g hooks to lash down from the pals webbing to the rear or the buckle webbing. black hawk use to make side rocket pouches to attach to the side.

Aaaaaah... you and I may have plenty of G hooks lying around to make such a rig, however... 😄 That's a very fair point Gean, and easy enough. I think if they plan possible changes to the pack, this would be on my list. I hope you and your family are all good my friend. Have a great week

Thanks for posting. Enjoyed this more than I thought I would… when I saw it my immediate impressions were “another awful MOLLE covered pack” but credit where credit is due it seems to be well thought out. From a design point of view the only thing I dislike it’s the tapered design… but each to their own. I use a KarrimorSF Predator 30 for the cheeky overnighters in the woods, it’s not a cheap bag and is considered the best of the best in military circles as is the Sabre45 that I also own but there are things about this pack that have impressed me that I wish was on my Karrimor. Mainly underneath attachment points, and that grab handle design. The grab handles on the Sabre 45 are however second to none… I’m quite sure it can be used to tow a car with 😂 Just to add… if Helikon Tex are reading this I hope to god they send to you their Bushcraft Essentials Kit Bag, I swear to you it’s the mother of EDC bags.

It's definitely a great pack. I need to check out more from Karrimor. I still have one of my first ever packs from them in the early 90s. The essential bag is definitely on my list of things to test out. Tganks for commenting my friend

Hi may i know how does this compare to the Multicam Gr1 and which do u prefer?
@MoorlanderEDC2 жыл бұрын
Hmmmmm... I'm going ot give you a typical on the fence answer here in that they're very different packs. The GR1 is as tough as they come, however you're limited on how well you can pack it. With the 1000d cordura you're already starting off with a reasonably heavy pack.... BUT! It'll keep you safe from a nuclear blast 😆 The LBT pack is a lot lighter and gives you more choice as far as packing. It's a tried and test3ed design going back decades. It's still tough, however with the reduced denier on the material it's a lot lighter. The compression straps on the side also really help to manage the weight as you can fit three days with of stuff in (way more than the GR1). They're both great packs. I hope that helps Rick

Hi Elizabeth, I hope you're well. You're spot on. This is 100% a piece of military equipment. The design of the original bag from decades ago has definitely changed to modern bags to help with getting equipment in there. I think a lot of military backpack manufacturers are really thinking more about usage in the military, but also for civilian/EDC use as they're becoming even more popular. Maybe I'm a bit of a masochist and love to test out these for EDC. Do you have a favourite pack to use for a 72 hour trip? Or even for EDC? Thank you for watching and commenting
