Mystery Ranch 3 Day Assault Pack CL: Next Level EDC

Thanks for watching.. In this video I share with you the Mystery Ranch 3 Day Assault Pack (3DAP). In March of this year, I added the 2 Day Assault Pack to my top 5 Everyday Carry Backpacks and I knew that Mystery Ranch made a 3 Day Assault Pack that I may like even more. Well, I finally got my hands on it and it is excellent. I love the quality, the design and the comfort. THE PRICE is expensive but it's hard for me to knock the price because there is so much to love here. No pack is perfect but for me this pack is in serious competition with my Alpha One Niner Evade 1.5 Full for the best EDC pack I have ever used.

I bought this because of your review George! I actually first bought the 2 day assault and liked it, but just really wanted an upgraded version! I felt like I was missing out because I intend on using this for as long as possible. You’re right, the material is even tougher than the 2 day, and to me, it’s worth it IMHO. Nice review George. And nice bag. The downside of this bag for me for EDC is the lack of outside organization pockets for edc/office items. For larger edc and outdoor adventures i currently use my Vanquest Falconer 30 or my old but still gold 5.11 rush 24, with bottle pockets attached on both bags. Stay safe and God bless. Cheers!

For those complaining about the bag you have to realize that it was made for their military line. There are certain compliances they had to meet with materials and that is seen in the price and weight. Have had mine since 2013 and aside from some staining, there's no damage to the bag from all the abuse that it's been through. Plus mystery ranch has a better customer service than many of the other companies out there.

On point !!! My 3 day assault pack has been My carry-on luggage/ pack for years. I don't check in bags anymore. I also use the 3 day assault pack for work. My 3 day assault pack has paid for itself, and still looks in magnificent shape. Mystery Ranch also has excellent Customer service. Yes... It is an expensive pack. And not for everyone. George, I have this bag in the camelbak version. They did a collaboration back then. Had it since 2012 and daily it everyday. Great bag. You should do a review on the tad gear fast pack edc! That is going to be my next pack.

That little tag of Made in USA cost me a lot but never regretted. Definitely way more pretty than 2 day. Heard that 2 foam cube on military version is good too.

The Mystery Ranch packs that are made outside of the U.S.A. are on par with made in USA packs as the quality control is excellent as I have several packs from Mystery Ranch made both in the USA and overseas as their quality and finish is the same 👍🏻

For those DIY people you can save a good amount of money making your own packing cubes.. just buy the regular ones for $5 buy some velcro and sew it

I already have 2 MR packs, and am looking to replace my EDC bag (Vertx) with something like the MR Scree 32, but smaller. I like this 3-day Assault, but don't want all the Molle and buckles, etc. It looks too tactical. Plus it's pretty big. I'm also 6'0 and 245 lbs., so it's not that it's too big fore- it's just too big in general! Thoughts?

Is there a reason why bags aren’t adding some pockets outside for keys, wallet etc... ? Everything is inside, there are n9 admin pockets on 5he outside for quick retrieval. Don’t want dis,angle entire bag to get car keys. IMHO if I’m wearing a bag why stuff my pockets with crap

I really love you videos man! I’m not sure what you do professionally but if I had to guess based on your videos I’d say your in some sort of video production. I love this bag but I just can’t justify 400 dollars on a bag to my wife lol. This one can handle a 17 inch laptop which I need. Sadly the 2day assault only holds 15”. What would be your favorite recommendation for a 17 inch laptop edc bag? I was looking at the Osprey Tropos but it just doesn’t have that awesomeness factor. It’s just a really nice bag with a great company with a lifetime warranty.

Hi George ! Few things to share , I personally mailed to Mystery Ranch fir their pricing and they replied with saying , yes they are pricy . I asked then is it that MR want only rich people to use their packs ? I mean their all bags are on expensive side . Anyways , I find MR packs over five and over priced . At last this three way zippers makes really no sense , while you also found it difficult to close after filling the pack completely. Please share your thoughts honestly 😊. Always Great to watch you buddy . Can you make video on ULA EQUIPMENTS CDT PACKS AND quickstep pack ? Please advice best 30-35 lit pack for hiking and daily use both combined . Tc

It looks like they finally listened to all of the multiple negative reviews about the crappy future shoulder straps of the past few years and updated the shoulder straps to their latest thicker strapped harness coming out on their new models. After multiple complaints from customers, because the 3dap used to have super comfy thick padded straps, then went to the cheap standard less padded straps, they updated these straps in spring of 2020. Mystery ranch lost me as a customer when I paid the $400+ and got the old shitty straps. Also the 500d cordura they used felt super thin and cheap. For the money/value I’d just buy the 2dap, which actually felt sturdier than the 3dap. To me $400 just because this bag is made in the USA was NOT worth it. Rather buy their overseas made stuff. The worst part is mystery ranch is really getting away from their roots of make quality over quantity decisions to make more money.

George DEFINED i don’t think I’m being too picky, but the waist belt on the 2 day was lacking, all the plastic hardware feels really cheap, the shoulder straps are started fraying with minimal use. A good quality pack? Kifaru , Eberlestock , and Mystery Ranch Military line up. I think they’ve cut a lot of corners to increase production and it shows. I had one of their military bags and used it everyday for 7 years straight. Survived everything. The marathon bombings in Boston and more trips in the mountains than I can count. Never once wondered if it would break in the field. Can’t say the same with their civilian line of packs.
