I LOVE the leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I left the church 20 years ago because I was offended by things that had been said. My life after leaving was terribly dark. I had become an alcoholic and drug addict. In the space of “not many years” I was homeless and hopeless. God NEVER gave up trying to rescue me. I’ve recently been rebaptized and feel so much joy that only the gospel and God can provide. These men are in many senses just like us- they are not perfect…. However they are trying their best to follow the the only perfect person to walk the earth. So I feel most comfortable trying to follow their admonitions and my Savior, Jesus Christ.

If you're positively impressed by Elder Bednar's conference address, you might also be interested in finding out more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. That could be done in many different ways, but a few most common are listening to other conference talks (they're easily Googled) and speaking with the Missionaries, or even one of the leaders of a Ward or Stake near you. Conference talks are an effective way to get to the so-called 'meat and potatoes' of the Gospel, but you may not fully get what they're saying without having some things explained to You by the Missionaries, and I'd be happy to help you also. Just reply if you're interested, and take care.

I had to re-watch Elder Bednar's talk because the spirit of warning was VERY distinct. I've really noticed the African saints OVERFLOWING with the Holy Spirit as the wards and branches grow. Their eyes show so much LOVE for Jesus Christ! 💜🙏🏼🫂 Yet I've seen so many members in America dropping like flies...😲 People here think that God's word is outdated, not applicable to them, and/or just plain offensive. I'm far from perfect, but I know that I returned to church after almost 2 decades of inactivity. THAT mistake was definitely learned from, and I believe my testimony is stronger now than EVER! It's not easy, but being away from the true gospel is way harder, and I'm grateful to have the truth in my life and Jesus Christ as my strength. I fully sustain our first presidency and our 12 Apostles, and I say this in the name of Jesus Christ amen 🙏🏼🥰

I joined the church 37yrs ago as a 33yr old, the Lord has always been a part of my life, as hard as I tried to destroy my life he has been saving it. I see in the scriptures my life, a prodigal, boastful, proud, etc, etc. As a lost soul 37yrs ago I plead with the Lord to save me, he did and he keeps saving me. I have tried my pathetic best to live the gospel of Jesus Christ, I see that in every moment of my life He continues to bless me. I really don't know why, I am a wretched being. Less than the dust that obeys him so perfectly. But I have come to know that he loves me more than all the world's he has made. My Lord the Prince of peace even the God of mercy. And I know He loves you just same, oh how blest are we all.

Start to finish, this GC was focused on perfecting the Saints. I've said for a long time there would be a shift to that someday. We need to become a people worthy to receive the Lord when he comes again, and it is time to get in shape. There are wolves in sheep's clothing among us, and those that need to be strengthened as well as looking inward to our own discipleship.

I really felt the messages of "it's time Now! Time to stop waffling around, time to finally and wholly commit to Christ, to level up your game and try harder, time to seriously start choosing to put Christ first" as a reoccurring theme. These Conference talks hit HARD this year. Especially President Nelson's talk - I could feel his palpable sense of yearning to impress these truths on our hearts, pleading for us to change our very nature so that when Christ comes, we won't be left outside the wedding venue like in the Parable of the 10 Virgins. 😟🩷 Our leaders truly wear themselves out in their service to the Lord.

Amen! In one of the footnotes, he is saying some are past the day of repentance. I believe this too, because their pride turns to bloodshed if the loose their lands from the Lamanite's that will come among us, and hearts set on the riches and vain things of this world is too hard for them. The early Saints had this, but they didn't harden their hearts. They picked up and moved on...
@koltoncrane309911 күн бұрын
Gary The early saints also predominantly over time lived in an era of sound money or gold and silver so banks were limited in credit creation or creating new currency out of thin air. Read Murray rothbard book us monetary history on KZbin. The eccleszzz who is lds pushed Keynes and fiat currency essentially. They claimed it was a gold standard but the centralbankis privately owned paying a 6%divicend and never audited. The U.S. declared bankruptcy in 1971 and now each new mortgage creates new currency into existence. And in 2020 reserve requirements for banks went to zero which Lacy hunt said ended fractional reserve banking. When you can rob by inflation or creating endless new currency out of thin air obviously that’s going to promote materialism and the illusion of wealth on paper and greed and endless war. Few people ever talk about it and Christian church’s evade ever talking about it. Idk if they’re forbidden from talking about it. Eccleszzz who is lds pushed or helped get the rock rolling in this direction to save his bank in the Great Depression so idk if that is why they never talk about it idk.
@JamchildTVАй бұрын
As a prideful person, I believe pride is actions as much as it is attitude, and that spending our extra money on luxury for ourselves rather than giving to those in need is prideful no matter where we think our hearts are. As Jesus said, where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
@spencerallАй бұрын
Agreed! The Book of Mormon repeats the message that one of the first signs of a waxing pride cycle is the wearing of costly apparel and neglecting the poor.
@koltoncrane309911 күн бұрын
Jamchild Also I’ve asked a bishop about it. If you put money into a trust you never pay tithing until you pull it out. Tons of members use trusts etc to own homes or have a business own their car etc. You don’t actually pay tithing on your yearly increase as the scripture says cause your house goes up in price nominally yearly as more new funny money is made into existence. You’d be literally having to sell things if you paid for example the yearly increase in the paper value or nominal value of your house
@koltoncrane309911 күн бұрын
Jamchild We don’t have money today but fiat currency. It seems like greed and materialism has increased the last several decades as we went from actually having gold as money to it being banned and stolen in the Great Depression. Then we had a gold standard which is fictitious when the centralbank is never audited. When you take out a mortgage new currency is created out of thin air. Over time it erodes the purchasing power of others so you could argue it’s theft and greed. Those that borrow the most wins essentially which is why most rich people don’t have “money” leftover cause you just use debt or leverage. Eccles said his bank out grew the simple faith of his father. People literally saved their money in actual money but now you can’t actually really save because we have an expansionary monetary system. I remember in college my tax professor in particular thought estate tax was great to limit wealth inequality but never talked about currency growth or money printing which is one reason assets go up. The taxes on my mom’s house for instance went up since the rona and she noticed. There were zero improvements done on the house yet the government magically thinks it’s worth more. Is it greed to use the degraded system and use tons of debt to grow your wealth or where do you draw the line in the sand?

I love this talk about the importance of The Book of Mormon for our day. We truly need to put more time into reading from this powerful book of scripture. It truly testifies of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you Eld Bednar for sharing your testimony of The Book of Mormon.

Pride a spiritual poison! What is pride? “Disbelieve in the spirit of prophecy and revelation, trample under our feet the commandments of God, deny the word of God, cast out mock and revile against the prophets, and forget the Lord our God, and desire not that the Lord our God who hath created us, should rule and reign over us”.

Let’s not forget hoarding our wealth and prosperity and refusing to help the poor. Elder Bednar talked about that a LOT.

Wow such an amazing message! My wife and I just had our 5th child, we love all our kids so much. It makes me sad that hardly anyone my ages has kids or wants children.
