Finally a true budget knife that doesn't cost three figures.

I've had both Le Duck and Le Hawk for a couple years. I can tell you that you CAN deploy both of them with just a sharp tug, that retention clip WILL open up. No need to disengage it first. They are BOTH awesome knives, exactly the high quality we all have come to love and expect from @Outdoor Edge products.

Cool knife. Have you tried to deploy it when wearing it? Looks like it may be tight against your waist in an on your back fighting situation. I honestly do not mind not having retention on my knife for me personally. Great video as always!

Ahh, Le Duck! I remember seeing that knife a while back. You have sparked my interest in it once again. 👍 Edit: I purchased it and I don’t regret it. The size fits it’s purpose, small and concealable while still being usable and controllable. No regrets here!

I carry the le duck daily, along with a second blade. I am actively training with delta defense, and during training, I reach for the le duck 10:1 over my second blade.

Knife is a great up close and personal defensive weapon.
@magicbeetle22922 жыл бұрын
Why does you just have a large knife as your secondary for your battle belt? Because if you're carrying a rifle the only time you'd use your pistol if someone gets close to you and a large knife can fix that problem a lot quicker.

The retention is nice also if you didn’t know you can take it out of its sheath with enough force so that you don’t have to unlock it it will do it itself with you needing to unlock it first

Awesome video going over the knife and its use. Ever since I saw CutleryLover check out the Le Duck, I've been wanting to get my hands on one. Seeing how good it can be for self-defense, now I am definitely getting one.

3 ducks for the price of one shiv works is a good deal. Not sure about belt placement I cannot imagine it is super comfortable but the idea behind it is very true for if not hidden it can easily be used against you in the fight you never want to have. Curious about the TQ holder as most say they are not able to mount horizontal, was that a modification?

Nope! Check the tourniquet mount we sell of wolfinprogress.com

I found an Esee Izula 2 horizontally mounted left of the cobra buckle works great. Long enough to grab easy with either hand but doesn't protrude a ton. Doesnt work though if you use the clip-in ring cause its in the same spot. I'm not riding in Blackhawks though so I dont have a ring on my belts lol

I just ordered this because of the ability to easily conceal and because my job while being a first responder I'm not a Leo. but with the way shit is today I rather be prepared and never need it. however in the situation your describing why are you concerned with hiding the knife if your putting on a whole battle belt for home defense ? I'm not looking to strike up a argument or be an ass I am just curious as to why you would put on a whole belt of defensive and support items and then be worried about the last ditch knife being hidden.

I dont comment often but heck possible free stuff. lol. Glad to hear your going to safari land. Also that knife I've had many on my belts and a lot depends on what your using for, out of curiosity have tried to pull it cross handed in a fight with pajamas on, it gets hung up easy. Im law enforcement anything that rotates up catches body armor, if in a struggle useless. Now I do like the knife but just doesn't fit my needs. Requardless Love your videos.
@WolfinProgress4 жыл бұрын
Hah yeah I’ve tested it a couple times. Agreed it’s not ideal but I’d rather have trouble deploying it (danger) than get it stolen from me (deadly).

Interesting knife, but I am not to sure I would want my knife completely behind my belt, while not on you can easily bring it into action, but if you are wearing the belt and need to access it instantly, you not only have to reach behind your belt, get a grip on it, rotate it up, but then change your grip to hit the retention mechanism. By then if you are grappling with someone, you are already in deep crap, if you get your hand behind your belt trying to pull the knife into position to release it, your opponent can have your arm pinned against your body with your hand trapped behind your belt. It's like being tied up and only one hand to defend yourself. As for the knife being a good defensive blade, I would want it where I could reach it and not be in a more vulnerable position while trying to get to it.
@Marlah44 жыл бұрын
Agreed
@WolfinProgress4 жыл бұрын
Agreed it’s not ideal but I’m comfortable enough with my grappling skills that I don’t think somebody could keep my arm pinned for long. Besides I’d rather have a pinned arm (danger) then get my knife stolen from me (deadly).

A knife like that for under $25 is a great option. If it were mine though, I’d try to get rid of the lock on it, I feel that in a high stress situation I might lose some fine motor skills and fumble with the locking system. Really like the way it swivels too.
