16:05 Actually the "START" on that card refers to the short game. The rules say "If a card has the text 'Start' *instead* of a tick".. So it's a tick for the long game, and a Start for the short game. For comparison, check the Sawmill which is Start in the short 1 player but absent in the long 1p game.

What rulebook are you guys using? At 6:38 the public Marketplace is used without paying the entry fee. "Entry fees must be paid when a player takes a building action. If the building belongs to the town, it is paid to the Treasury (the Supply)." I'm new to the game, but it seems that play-throughs aren't a good way to learn to play.

Amazing stream of an amazing game. All the 'thinking out loud' really adds to the show. Thanks guys, once more.

20:35 I believe that you could have bought the Clay Mound - you do not have to wait for the town to build it. The rules state: "At any time, all buildings that are owned by the town and the buildings on the top of the three Building Proposal piles are available for purchase."

06:12 Marketplace is only started as an initial building in the 1 or 2 players short version ;)

I think this is everything a stream should be. It's shot well, you have a good rapport and I like the strategizing out loud. Fantastic.

One of my good friends has been aching to get me to play this. Maybe next week when I'm back home for Thanksgiving! Thanks for the great video, you do an excellent job of fitting a ton of info on the screen without it being confusing.

I am a regular HC viewer but this is the first time I saw this video. Wow guys, the strategy discussions were golden. Please do similar episodes like this one !

40:10 Loans, it's "all players who have taken out a loan must immediately pay exactly 1 Franc in interest, *irrespective of the number of loans they have*." (Emphasis theirs - from rulebook, page 4) This actually makes getting multiple loans, especially in the early game, pretty tempting :)

Yeah, I thought something sounded wrong when they talked about loans. There's a whole strategy built around taking lots of loans. There is a variant where you pay 1 per loan so maybe they were playing with that.

I was on the fence about this but after watching I'm going to try and track down a copy. Looks like lots of fun.

Glory to Rome on you guys! ;) You are really contributing to my acquisition disorder... I hadn´t even thought of getting either Le Havre or Lisboa before watching your show. For shame, Edward!

Are the player boards in front of you guys (they organize your resources) included in the box? Perhaps you made them?

Printed off of BGG. These are close to the ones we have: boardgamegeek.com/filepage/106505/le-havre-player-mats-v1

Hey guys, could you point me to the plastic resource containers that you used?= ) Can I also ask if you find this game unbalance toward certain overpowering resources? I've heard this complaint a lot lately.

I'm fairly certain we got them at Michael's years ago. I'd suggest taking a look there. Cheers!

The plastic crates are called. "Really Useful Boxes." Those are the .07 Litre size I think. Love'm.

Oddly, I don't. I did find these which is close and, arguably, better than what we use: boardgamegeek.com/filepage/106505/le-havre-player-mats-v1

Thanks for the playthrough! I wonder if I'm the only one who was disappointed with Edward noticing the chat wasn't on-screen? It's so distracting during playthroughs, I felt much better able to concentrate on the game without it
