Hi Myra 👋, yeah I know, currently my spaghetti bolonaise is low in stock + someone in our community mentioned that I should try Schupfnudeln. Never did them before at home, but I do like to make once a week something to eat I haven't had before so it was a great opportunity. This was a great wee overnighter and another place onto the growing list for me. I used to buy a sauerkraut when I lived in Germany but for the love of all things I cannot remember the brand or find anything that tastes like it here in the UK. It was like the holy grail for me and I wish I could find it again but no such luck nearly fifteen years (wow! has that been that long??). I love reading bothy books and there's something just really nice about finding hand-written word and listening to people's thoughts, especially Mike the Mouse's weight updates 😂 Thanks again for a great wee outing and, as always, keep up the great work.

Hi Brian 👋, thanks a lot! Yeah the asda Sauerkraut was super 'strong' - it helped quite a lot with the vegetable stock and boiling it for good 10 minutes to get rid of the worst taste 😎. Yeah I really like bothy books as well, a lot of good stories in this one but I loved particular the story of Mike 😂😂😂 Thanks a lot for watching! ATB Stripey

I mean some sources state that the meal comes from the thirty year war in the 17th century and that the soldiers invented the Schupfnudeln as this is what they could do in the trenches... Much improved from my visit, circa 5yrs ago Stripey, the workparty did a grand job. The sense of isolation was ruined by the 24hr quarry to the east? The bothy faces south! Still worth a visit.

Absolutely amazing Job the work party did!!! I read about the quarry but I couldn’t hear or see anything - said this I was basically all the time just inside due to the rain and wind which was at the same time all I could hear 😅, so the sense of isolation was quite there particularly after the long single track road to the hydro thing… Thanks a lot for sharing your experience Steve! Hi Debbie 👋, Thank you so much! My biggest respect for your job! I mean I am absolutely not a sea person and I can’t take longer wobbly rides on a ferry/boat - was actually really concerned that I couldn’t take the ferry back due to the strong winds…but I guess for a person with experience it was nothing at all 😂. A shame that we missed us, maybe next time it will work out (had actually a three day trip planned but cut it short due to the weather and the bothy was more or less a plan C). Thank you so much! Aw thankyou , it does get quite choppy sometimes but it’s a powerful boat , that said it has to go off now and again if it’s too windy, north east and south west winds tend to be the tipping point if it gets too strong . Thats a pity you couldn’t complete your planned hike , very impressed with your videos just love them 🤩

Hi Derek, I brought the filter as I drink quite a lot of water which I don’t boil - coffee water or cooking water does not need to be filtered very true but I just tend to leave the filter all the time on the water bladder when I am stationary. Cheers Stripey
