The message is great ❤ "True leaders don't create followers, they create more leaders." It is not about power, but empowering.

What I tried to post earlier but the system never posted it, is this. Leonard Davinci's notebook reveals the same thought you give here. And he gave credit for his success through the instruction of those who seek to empower their students.

I don't completely understand why many times KZbin will greatly delay or not even bother posting completely decent content comments. And because of this, I had to post my comment a second time and then go back and delete the first comment once it finally posted after a very lengthy time.

True leadership is not the act of being in charge, but of providing direction and creating opportunities for others to excel. Leadership is not reserved for the highest rank in an organization. Thanks for sharing!

I agree but it's important to mention providing the direction by what approach; our approaches do matter in leadership.

TRUST is everything - and it is achieved via relationship, time, desire. If you want true leaders, then you will ALWAYS have time and interest for them. You will CHOOSE to invest in them as you want them to invest. CARE for those wanting to step up, PROTECT them, GUIDE them. The rank & respect will come...but, will it happen in your group or some other group? Bcuz its gonna happen. WHERE it happens is all about how you MET THEIR NEEDS while meeting your own...

This is so, so, true. I have worked 'under' people I would not follow out of a burning building, yet they assume because they have a position, they are automatically a leader. People choose their leaders, and tolerate a manager.

There's a time an a place for both leadership and authority, just as there is for managers and leaders. Not everyone can or will be a good manager, nor will everyone be a good leader but, contrary to what many believe, there is a need for both. It's truly rare when you find someone who can do both lead and manage successfully. When one learns how to use their authority for the purpose of true leadership, well that's where it all begins to flourish for the betterment of all.

Sound and helpful message. Many people wants to be a leader because they want power and authority, however, they were few has a gift of leadership. A leader must be a God-fearing person, have a sound mind, decisive, and fair judgement.

I want a world where rank is unnecessary, leaders appear where the need is. I agree people need ownership to continue a Movement, a self organising organisation. We all need to have leadership within us, just in case we need to access it. Also we are all leaders of our own destiny - why wouldn't you learn how to be a great leader? The ramifications are endless. We ALL need to be leaders we don't all need to be in charge. In my ideal world no one is in charge, but like a good marriage you look out for each other - putting others first means you want the best for them.

is the basic question in each leadership training. How become a leader? Institutional authority - by virtue of office • Vitamin B • to be thrown into the deep end • Founder (Start-up) Factual authority • Professional experience • Convince through knowledge • Competence and identification on the job • Courage & curiosity for new things Human social authority • Born leader • Charisma and character • Extroverted personality • Empathy • Philanthropist

Nothing is more powerful than an idea or paradigm whose time has come. One recent contemplation is that great visions might be started by the words of the articulate. But great movements and changes happen because the paradigms or ideas take on a life of their own. Many people think of continuity, legacy, succession planning, and growth as that which comes from bequeathing. Biological DNA, inheritances, promotions, endorsements. There is another kind of inheritance: existential DNA. Where an idea or paradigm whose time has come is easily adopted and incorporated by people. From all strands of life, social status, geographical location. Such breakthroughs often happen in the bleakest of times. Everything is about to collapse, the energy source is drying up, the lands becoming infertile wastelands, people oppressed and suffering, biosphere viability at risk. Then a paradigm bursts forth about diversity, inclusion, regenerative agriculture and economies, restoration of wildernesses (with the fire/water/erosion risks being managed and thus increasing fertility and diversity following). A paradigm that humanity does not have to become extinct, the biosphere is capable of self-regulated restoration if given the basics (keep water where it is harvestable, keep pollution and toxins down, clean the air and the land), that humanity is able to terraform this planet to make it habitable for generations to come. A paradigm that there is a greater consciousness/God/paradigm that cares/provides for all the peoples of all the nations, and eschews the greedy and corrupt that would bring about an apocalyptic nightmare just so they could gloat over their "power" to win and abuse. A paradigm that makes it possible to create a new earth, here, with us, right now. Those who eschew such a paradigm cannot do it here, nor can they or will they do it at any other level of consciousness. They literally lack the intellectual, emotional and spiritual grunt to do what is required. There are some who cling to literal interpretations and precedent, because they do not understand the drivers and paradigms. They cannot apply them to the current circumstances. That inability to understand means they cannot see how to take old principles and make them work in new circumstances. They do not recognize the limitations of their own thinking, and thus how they have become part of the problem, a hindrance to implementing solutions. Some work from a misogynistic patriarchial human male construct. It makes them blind to what females or other species can do. It means they literally do not see the sentience in non-humans, females, or the existence of Creation beyond their self-absorbed world. When an astronomer or hubble telescope looks into the sky, they see what they see. Observing something does not mean they understand something. Dark matter and dark energy purportedly did not exist, because it could not be seen nor measured. Yet these dynamics act, regardless of human male recognition or approval. Paradigms are the same, good paradigms do not need human male recognition or approval. They stand on their own merit. The outcaste, oppressed, abused, those at the coal face of environmental collapse. They see and understand paradigms that offer a future. For them and their children. Silly souls focussed on sociopathic narcisstic gloating and abuse reject these paradigms, because they cannot exploit them. The next great breakthrough is those who can see and understand how to terraform this planet (ecologically, socially and economically) such that it again becomes one of the most beautiful planets in Creation. Shining with life, diversity and abundance; in regenerative patterns that enable humanity and life perpetuation for generations to come.

i'd suggest to think about the latin words for these concepts: potestas (authority): the power you have because of the position you hold auctoritas (akin to leadership): the power that you as an individual have, being auctor the person who acts strangely enough, in most neolatin languages (italian, french, spanish. and in english trough french) the root of potestas was lost and the root of auctoritas switched in meaning to cover a less definite mix of the two meanings

Simon, perhaps you're not gonna read it, however, I'd just like to mention the principles described on 'The Servant' from James C. Hunter, in which authority is defined as an atribute from true leaders, and what you call authotiry on this video, the book calls 'Power', I guess it's just a matter of terminology, but it's basically the same point.

@LivinBilly3 жыл бұрын
I see negative hunger for power/authority from those who are insecure or who fear lack of control. Positive hunger for power often stems from a drive to accomplish a specific goal important to the individual.
