God Bless you! Go with your gut Lex. There is nothing wrong with going ahead and having your baby earlier. I feel like personally I would take the meds and schedule. Get your baby earth side and healthy. Praying for your whole family and may God guide you and Dan through this chapter of pregnancy. Much love xoxo

As a nurse. Induction sounds a lot scarier than it really is. Baby might be safer outside than inside. End goal should be safe baby and safe momma.

I was diagnosed with ICP at 35 weeks after the lab messed up two blood tests that happened at 31 weeks and 34weeks. Our OB and us decided that since it took till 35 weeks and the recommendation is induction at 36 weeks we skipped meds and went straight to induction. I was terrified. I prayed so much begging literally to go into pre-term labor like I did with my firstborn. We went in eighth at the 36weeks mark and I was at the beginning of active labor. Midwife swept my membranes and we were in full active labor an hour later. I praise god I never had to have the induction meds and baby was born a premie and was able two come home 5 days later!! You’ve got this momma!!! I’m here for you and praying for you!!

Labcorp takes 4 or 5 days for this test. My personal advice to you is to increase your water intake it helps. I'm a nurse but obviously I'm not a doctor that knows your body but I've dealt with labcorp for this testing and you doctor can set it to priority. They didn't know enough about icp when I had it and I had another issue with it. I lost my son 2 weeks before my due date. I'm not trying to scare you I promise. I'm telling you because you can demand your doctor put in a rush order to labcorp and have the results in 3 days. Alot of people don't know this. You are in my prayers and so is your family.

Oh how scary! I had my son at 34 weeks via emergency c section. He was in heart failure, SVT, and hydrops. Scariest day of my life! I had to be put under so I wasn’t even awake to see my son. I was so scared to wake up to my baby not being alive. But he was and the doctors did amazing! They didn’t waste any time flying him by helicopter to the best suited NICU. My son is now almost two years old. Pregnancy is both wonderful and scary. I’m praying for you and baby! ❤️🙏🏼

I’ll be 35 weeks on Thursday and I’ve already been diagnosed with ICP. I’ll be getting induced my 37th week which leaves me with not much time left! And this is my first baby. It’s such a blessing that nothing happened with your pregnancy with cooper, even if your test comes back and your levels aren’t that elevated I think it would be best if you went ahead and got induced only because your symptoms are progressing and getting worse. It would be super quick and it’s a lot to process but it would be better for your baby. Lots of love! Love your channel !

My son was born at 34w+6days. He spent two weeks in the NICU & is now a perfectly happy and healthy 2 ½ y/o. I didn’t have ICP but I ended up with Chorio which too could have been fatal to my baby (unbeknownst to me at the time, I have no idea why nobody told me) but he was definitely a lot safer outside of my body than inside which made it an easier decision to make. When I heard the words “he’s in distress, he’s not tolerating being in there” not a second went by when I made the decision to get him out. You and baby 🐻 are in my prayers! You both are strong and will get through this. ❤️.

I am so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I was induced with my first pregnancy and honestly it was great. I had a very fast four hour labour with no epidural and the first thing I said afterwards was "that wasn't so bad, I'd do that again ". I then went on to have two spontaneous labours with babies two and three. Their labours were 32! and 20 hours long. I just made it to hospital 15 minutes before my second baby arrived and half an hour before baby number three arrived. Honestly the induction wasn't bad and was so much quicker then my last two labours. I'm thinking of you and praying for you, you've so got this! xx

Ive been induced with all four of my babies and everything went perfectly. I'm anaged to have them without any pain meds and my body handled it greatly. I awas induced a week early with my last for her safety due to IUGR. For me all I wprried about was getting her put in time. I didnt care how she came, I just wanted her safely and earthside in my arms. Everything will be okay and at 36 weeks, baby is all good to come. I'm pretty sure I had that with my son in 2018. You are lucky you have a doctor who listened to you. My doctor (I'm not going back to her with any future pregnancies) just laughed when I mentioned it and said how they get so many women who ask about it and they don't have it, blah blah blah. She did let me get the liver bile test, but the results didn't come back until after my son was born, and they were negative, but it was probably just too early for it to show as positive. Thankfully, I already had to deliver him early (he was scheduled for and born via c-section at 36 weeks 6 days) because they had to do a T cut on my uterus with my daughter because of her prematurity (she was born at 26 weeks 6 days) and they didn't want me to go any longer because I was at higher risk for rupture anyway. But I had the symptoms. The soles of my feet, palms of my hands, legs, belly, arms, were SO itcy all the time. I never had a rash. It was horrible at night trying to sleep. I'd wake up constantly itching. It felt like ants crawling on my skin. Awful! I'd scratch myself with combs and brushes trying to get relief, I'd use vicks vapo rub to try to get relief from distraction, and I always had red marks from itching so much and even some places that I itched to bleeding at one point. My son had to spend 18 days in the NICU with breathing issues, not sure if that was related, but it sucked. Hopefully you won't have to deal with that with your sweet baby

When you talked about Coopers pregnancy my skin crawled because I had the same symptoms of ICP with my first but was never diagnosed because I was 20 years old and didn't know better and for some reason my water spontaneously broke at 37 weeks which isn't as common for a first time mom to into labor that early yet early or premature labor is a symptom of Cholestasis, thank Jesus she came early 🙌🙏 I was formally diagnosed with my second and he was monitored but to think my first went unattended scares me to this day

Praying for you and your family!!! I had our daughter at 38 weeks. I was diagnosed with ICP then the next day they scheduled to induce me. She was born healthy and happy. It’s an awful feeling the itch was so intense but it was worth it once I held her in my arms. I’m currently 29 weeks pregnant with our baby boy and haven’t had the symptoms yet for ICP. Lord I pray I don’t get it this time around too.

I feel like you already got your answer. You said your gut told you something is wrong. It's time to trust your instinct. You know your body better than anyone. I can promise you that your baby is at more risk inside if you have that, than it will be outside at 36 weeks. My youngest was born at 36 weeks and 2 days and had zero complications. If you suspect your body is poisoning your baby then get baby bear out. Praying so hard for all of you.

Yes I had it with both my boys and with my first I was induced at 36 weeks. No longer and my second 23 months after my first I had it again and it was actually worse and I went to pre term labor at 34 .5 weeks and my number was at a 35 very dangerous zone to be in. And what your saying about the itching it right on! It’s was always worse at night so bad I was making my self bleed without knowing because I was itching. Mama follow your gut. Both my boys were born healthy and came straight home. No NICU time. And not to mention I was on medication since 28 weeks with my second for it and my first at 33 weeks. It scares me that you don’t know that you have it and on no medication. Prayers for you.

Thank you, as always, for being so open with us and I feel strongly that you sharing this will help a mom in the future save her baby if she is too afraid to say something to her provider about the same symptoms.

I had to be induced with both of my babies and I was so nervous to be induced and wanted to go into labor naturally but I was also so scared of something happening to them, it was tough but I just wanted them earth side as soon as possible to know they were safe. I kept saying to my husband that I was having panic attacks because when you’re pregnant you’re the only one who can keep them safe and protect them or at least it feels that way and then when your body is working against you and harming them it’s the most helpless terrifying feeling. Thinking of and praying for you mama and a healthy safe delivery of baby bear.

Just want to encourage you that although induction would not be your first choice, it is sometimes the BEST choice and only option when you find yourself and bubs in a difficult situation. IT IS NOT A FAILURE! I have just been diagnosed with GDM and will also have to be delivered early, although mine will most likely end up a cesarean. Sometimes we need to let go of our expectations and accept that a different course is the best course, although it's not easy at all :( you are an incredible mama and we are praying you guys will have an amazing story to tell of God's grace and provision when you come out the other side of this. Also praying for your mindset that you will be able to have peace about whatever the path is, and that you are able to go into it all as calm and empowered as possible xxx much love!

Lex, I was talking to my mom yesterday after watching your Instagram story and I asked her to keep you and baby in her prayers. So you have even more prayer warriors outside of KZbin. If I could hug you, I would and I would be there to let you cry on my shoulder and try and help you laugh about things that the kids are doing and to continue to stay positive. Every morning when I wake up, I say a prayer for you in hopes that you both will be ok. I feel like we are friends and my heart is hurting and is worried for you and baby bear. So I think liver function is given more preference even if bile acid comes within range. After being vaguely diagnosed with PUPPS with both my boys, after watching this about the testing accuracy for ICP it makes me wonder. I was tested for it fortnightly from 21 weeks in my first pregnancy because of the insane itching which was literally driving me to the depths of despair every single night - in my second pregnancy I had the itching again and they tested me just the once for ICP - because I had the same symptoms with my first pregnancy they just went on the basis that it was my norm and it was down to PuPPs despite no obvious rash. Either way my boys were delivered perfectly healthy at 38 weeks and youngest induced at 37 weeks because they thought I had gestational diabetes (I didn’t 🤦♀️) More Info about ICP and testing definitely needs to be ‘out there’.

I'm 99.9 % sure I had this with both of my pregnancies, my first being the worst ... my hand and belly and bottoms of my feet itched SO bad.. my Dr. Who also delivered me...so he should have had some knowledge...did not know what was going on... said it was probably my hormones and sent me to the pharmacy with a prescription for ICP but the medicine was not even available at the time..the medication he prescribed was in a test run , not on the market 😑. In a way, the other complications I had with her pregnancy, I had to have NST done twice a week, I was thankful to be monitored closely! * I worked at a daycare and caught parvo, I was also RH- And got into a really bad car accident at 9 months pregnant, and her test came back for possible neural tube defect! Thankfully after all of that she was born healthy!
