If there’s one misconception that too many people hold about leadership, it’s this: You have to be in charge in order to lead. Leadership is all about influence. And influence is something we all have and something we can all cultivate, no matter our position, authority, or title. In this episode, Craig revisits a past teaching to resurface some lasting ideas about how you can lead when you’re not in charge.

Another way to show honor to your boss is to compliment him or her behind their back. I can almost guarantee it gets back to them. I've gotten calls from our CEO thanking me for work our department has done. I always say that it wouldn't be possible without the leadership and environment my boss has provided me and our department, which is true.

Well happens managers to take advantage of employees that honor them and carry their workload and cover their lack of skills. So they never lead up.
