The lp decreasing lp gains is not just a masters+ thing. I'm only silver but went on a winning streak and rose ranks very quickly and at the end of it I went from gaining 25 lp to only 19. Riot really discouraging people from playing their game unless it's a new account

Well, I had the same…. After finishing placement I was on +30 LP. Then i won 85-90% of my games. But still 10 games further i was at +20 LP …. & -27 LP. 30 games further 27W 3L, still on +21 LP & -27 LP. Then i promoted to dia 4, and the curse was finally gone and instantly switched to +25LP -25LP Still i don’t get the logic..

Remember the game will also take into account your performance, If on average you perform better than the rank your are currently on you will also start gaining more LP per match. farm well and dnt die as much and even on those losing games you wont lose to much lp. If you are staring to get less lp its because of your performance, in the rank that you are currently on there are now some aspects of your game that are now in need of refinement to keep climbing.

@@Masterpouya Im pretty much experiencing the same thing right now but cant confirm that it resets in dia. So I basically went on a 20 games win streak (with 2-3 looses in between) climbing from e3 to d2. I started at +30 per game and am down to +19/20 now. At the same time loosing -27/28/29. Its crazy frustrating right now and I cant really get my head behind how this works. I have to admit that my acc was d2 long time and decayed duo not playing during a long vacation. Not sure how that affected my accounts mmr.

If you have 57% in 150 games, I don't think that you should have 18+ 28- lp gains it makes no sense. I went from Gold to Emerald but still these lp gains make it impossible to even play the game at that point

well going from gold to emerald is exactly the reason this happened. Your mmr was probably at high gold or low plat and as soon as you passed it you started getting less lp. Mmr needs more games to change

I currently am running into the same problem. Placed G3 and I’m currently E3 gaining +15 and losing -27. I have a 63% win rate with approx 110 games. I don’t understand why it’s like my account is hard stuck when I am clearly not “peaking” yet.

same thing for me, from bronze to emerald with around 60% win rate at around 150 games and my mmr just died, its says my mmr is plat2 and am emerald4 and when I win I gain 19-20 and on lost I have 27-29lp, impossible to climb...

The more games you play it will start to even out as you climb, but thats kind of the issue with it all isnt it... That they just want you to be hooked and to play ALOT of games to get those gains and losses back to normal, with +18 and -28 you have to go 3-2 to go even... which is just unfair entirely

I have the same scenario. I've been a hardstuck gold player last season going to g4-g1 simulteanously and even demoted to silver and went back to gold 4 after season reset. But after the reset, I'm placed at Silver 1 gaining 50+ lp then to gold gaining 30+ lp and went to plat with 22+ lp and -27 lp. After setbacks and climb, I went to E4 and now gaining +15, 16, 17 and -30, or -28. Imagine from Silver to E4, a pretty big leap(improvement) and got my account higher wr then you will be rewarded with this trash lp?

I always wonder (as a software engineer myself so I know this is possible lol) if they like increase/decrease LP gains or place you on good/bad teams depending on how long you are away from the game. Logic being if you are spam playing games riot could detect that and categorize you as an “addicted” player. To which they could put you on bad teams to keep the addiction going since you are already forgone and tilted at that point lol. Whereas if you are away from the game for a few days or weeks etc…perhaps they see you as a “fresh” player and want to give you the best experience possible so they increase your LP gains and place you on higher probably win rate teams. Not saying this is what they are doing but sometimes it feels like that and it would def be possible and a way to addict people lolol. Purely anecdotal tho lol

You know there was a huge conspiracy that this was true due to a patent that riot passed and someone came across it called "Behavior Pattern Matchmaking" (I may be messing the name up but I am sure you could still find it if you looked it up), Even though it was a patent they own, they never claimed to use it any of their games, but alot of people think that they do indeed, use it.

Hello! You couldn't have said it better, it is exactly what is going on - my work schedule is adjustable so I can sometimes spend day or more grinding ranked(I only play ranked) and when I'm playing a lot (might even be on a winning streak), there is a certain break when you feel as to the MMR is giving you unplayable games just because you were doing soo good. Then I just drop the game for a few days, and I go back with a "fresh" approach and the MMR is giving you good games. What I've somehow understood is - I have to catch the moment before, or at least all of a sudden you get a player that completely isn't in right place as tho of less skill/knowledge of the game. If this would not have happened to me more than a dozen times it would be hard to believe such focused style of match ranking!

@@brennenwolf its the patent that EA owns but is being rented out by many other companies. There is a whole academic study about it and its absurd. The game basically exploits your desire to win and intentionally puts you in massive win and lose streaks to get you hooked and keep your win rate close to 50 as as possible, in short lol. Its disgusting really and the change is obvious to old seasoned veterans like me. Ive been playing since the closed beta when they were giving out king rammus keys to high elo dota1 players. Since then, the matchmaking system has obviously been drastically changed, as in previous seasons you could easily reach 60-70% win rates, tfblads even had 84 at some point in challenger. Now it is very rare to see someone over 60 lol. And its been like this ever since they sold the game over to china.

I could go on a win streak or lose streak or straight up 50/50, doesn't matter. I always lose 28+ and win maybe 18-24. So i've never understood the LP gain/loss. It's like I am punished more for losing than being rewarded for winning. Definitely very discouraging for someone to want to lay when you're never rewarded after a hard fought win no matter the elo, you lose one game and you get shit on by the mmr/LP system.

Personal hottake We need to have mmr removed completely. Go to pure ranked matchmaking getting matches vs within 3 divisions of yourself or if in a duo it goes off the higher rank of the duo. You get a fixed amount of Lp win/loss. Can give more Lp on a streak.

this is exactly how dota2 ranked systems work, except there is no duo queue contributing to solo mmr, there is solo and party mmr. the mmr system does have advantages of making sure smurfs arent in the lower elo for long, but at the same time, there is nowhere near the smurf problem in dota2, because it places you closer to your mmr, and it takes longer to climb

Except it's a myth. You can find plenty of instances just looking through a site like mobalytics that tells you the average rank of each team that prove this statement false. Just like LS claiming you win more LP if you win from the blue side. It's a myth that is easily debunked.

I think i hit the absolute worst part of this shit. Gaining +16 lp when winning and losing -30 lp. Winning 3 and losing 2 still puts me -12 lp. Absolutely frustrating. Riot just discouraging people like this in every part of the game. Fix this cursed ranked system.

Im kinda glad to hear, that Im not the only one experiencing these weird lp gains right now. It honestly feels like you are getting less lp the more games you win. Straight the opposite of how it was before. Maybe they somehow didnt adjust the mmr and how it changes after removing the promos entirely? But thats just a wild guess, Im have acutually no clue. So I had a pretty harsh start into the season ended up in e3 after like 30 games. I then went on like a 30 games win streak climbing to d1. In the meanwhile my lp gains dropped from +30 to +20 and Im loosing -28/29. I was pretty much d1 with 53% winrate and now am slowly dropping towards d4 while maintaining my 53% winrate. Its really strange.

WTF what champs do you play? OP GG? Like I am stuck in Emerald 4 , hit many 4 win streaks to Emerald 3 , even at one time I was a game away from Emerald 2, and that took so many games because gain 18 , lose 28. Now if it was the old system of even lp gains I would been Emerald 1 at peak. New system is making you play double the amount of games and more hard stuck it’s crazy.

My main was d1 last season but I ended plat because I roleswapped to jungle for competitive and used it to practice. I got +17 and -28 in Emerald 2. After a 40 minute 410 cs 14/4/19 game loss where my whole team was legit 40% winrate while I am sitting on 58%... I decided to say "fk it" and transfered my main to a different server for 2 weeks and then gonna transfer it back. I am not gonna play 300+ games just to make Riot believe I am a d1/master mmr midlaner while I can play on a new account and get diamond within 35 games... Its an absolute joke right now.

One thing to note as a general idea of sorts that could benefit the ranked system is to make ranked accessible form a later level account lets say something like lvl80 then you would have time to adjust mmr and there wont be much of an incentive to jump accounts and have plat mmr lvl 30 accounts where in general you wont know if people can even play at that skill level

As a match making user veteran, both the 50% force and 75% force types, from LoL s1, Dota1 & 2, SC2, War3, OW (Riot and Blizzard employees have always been very close), The things this guy talks about make waaaaaaaaaaaaay more sense than any garbage Riot PR says is true. I'm gonna share my experience with ranking duo in this season For context, I started playing at the end of season 7 so I started ranking in S8, not much, ended the positions games in silver 3 maybe, played some more games ans then never ranked again until this season because I had an awful internet connection and a crappy 2009 PC. My MMR sucks because I barely played casual arams or normals until 2019 and didn't played league since 2020 until 2022, and my micro game was awful too, so I didn't have a good performance then. I have been playing duo with a Masters ADC main (he used his alt/smurf account) and I've used some tanks supports, and we started playing from bronze to emerald. It is true that if you're playing with a duo, the system will try to match you against other duos, and it will face you against +200LP. But if the system can't find a duo, it could match you againt +400LP or even more difference. For instance, I was ranked at silver 2 maybe and I was against gold 1/ plat 3. It was crazy the difference. Once you start win streaking, the system will slowly put you in a "smurf queue" and you will find more often these bigger differences in elos. You also start wining more LP. I started getting +26 LP and now the system gives me +34 LP in average, my highest has been +37. Right now we have slightly over 60% wr in almost 50 games, and we are in plat against low emeralds, like emeral 4/emerald 2. I want to mention that weird things starts to happen when you start dodgning games. For instance, my duo had higher MMR so he dodged 2 games in a row just so we can keep playing, and we had a 8 win streak. Suddenly the queue changed for a bit. We lost 5 games in a row, the first 2 of them were well deserved because we played it poorly, but the other 3 games we had an excellent performance but our teammates were so bad they were constantly throwing the game. It felt like a punishment for dodging before and it was like we were paired with people that got there because they were carried and they didn't have the level it's supposed to be in that elo, and since it wasn't gold or some low elo, we couldn't recover. There were several people on our team that were in a "losers queue". So just in case, don't dodge unless strictly necessary. The MMR gets higher the better you play, even if you win or lose. Dodging games got so nerfed that I don't think it's worth it. Myd advise would be: don't be a kda player, that won't increase your MMR. It will make you get stuck but with nicer numbers. If you can do your part correctly, get killed and even don't get any kill, but your team gets a significant advantage, you better take it.

@@leeroyjenkins3209 not exactly, the hardest part for me was getting out of low elo hell, I was positioned in iron and was getting out of there by myself but it took me longer because I had bad teammates which most of the time didn't follow my calls and was doomed if my teammates lost their lane because they couldn't recover. I think the worst is at bot extremes of the spectrum of what is considered "low elo" because in iron they won't understand the calls and in silver they won't follow your calls because they think they're right and you wrong because is an unknown thing for them what you're proposing. A lot of people in low elo play either too safe or fight with everything at anytime without thinking around objectives or resources that gives an advantage to the team, even they fight in disadvantage because they don't know their limits. So winning becomes more and more random and less controllable. Having a premade allows you to remove part of that randomness of winning or losing because it's a more coordinated and consistent teammate which you're constantly communicating through voice chat. I had over 60% wr playing by my own in low elo as an top and adc, and with a premade allowed me to win streak so hard that I got out of bronze 1 up to gold 1 in maybe 25 games or so which would've taken me far more games if I didn't have his help. That's why the system tries to match me with +400LP lobbies. Also, take in consideration, if I didn't deserved that elo, we would've taken far more games to climb and my MMR would b so bad I'd win just +22LP instead of +34 or something like that. Also I have been playing by my own lately. I'm doing good in mid and supp. If I didn't deserve it I would be demoted a long ago. Sorry for having close friends and climbing together, I didn't know it was a crime, and the punishment of such crime was being unentitled to my rank

How "magically" and "randomly" you get paired up with 4 people with 20% win rate, feeding in every single game while the enemy team is rocking 55-70% win 4-5 kda rates against you. Nowadays I don't play on my main after hitting emerald because the lp gains are atrocious. Made a new account, easily within 4 days i got that one to plat 1 and the games are night and day difference, it's wild.

So i started improving finally and jumped up to emerald rank. I was getting +27 +28 in platinum 1. I started getting +18 +17. Got demoted from very troll games with tilted players that wanted to quit/afk. Now im getting the same lp gains in plat 1.. how is this fair? I have to play solid every single game and hope one of my team mates doesnt shit the bed entirely and give up- the only solution is win more games, but in games i play well which is most i have to just pray someone doesnt int? jg / top going 0/7 in 10 mins should not be a thing in that elo.

This is what has stopped me playing. Last season i started off insane, best ive ever done out the gate.. was at 74% wr after 80 games but my LP was just not adjusting. There was then a very common trend of me having lower ranked, negative wr players on my team but the other would have 1-2 higher tiered players.. as we all know negative wr indicates either that they are not at the right rank or are toxic.. i had this for the next 50 games till i just gave up. Its by far the least rewarding ranking system of any game and the fact they do these tactics to make you play as many games as possible is wild, id play more if i was at the level i should be at. Adding ranks has made it worse imo, hence why i stopped playing.

The last i ever played anything remotely close to serious is S3 and I only got to Plat 1, somehow after years of not touching the game. I am now in Iron matched with silver/gold, while I am absolutely getting dumpster sitting on my tower and zoned out. Make its really hard to justify ever coming back to play league at all no matter how much friends or streams try to convince me to.

I also started to notice that, the closer you are to peaking, Riot will use EOMM to keep you hooked. It became specially obvious in S13 with the introduction of Emerald messing up the LP scales. I peaked Gold IV once few years ago. Every single season I get closer to S1, I start getting horrible matchmaking. This season became so obvious because I put my game in order and started winning, to the point I had 19 wins over loses, and a 65% WR per 20 games. The moment I hit S2 92LP, I got an absurdly long combo of unplayable matches. I even checked some op gg profiles to just see if I was tilting and inting, but I found things like a 43% (overall) WR BRONZE Ashe placed in the same match, and she got put in a Iron II level match after. I'm seriously considering leveling up a fresh account by hand to see if I'm going crazy with this theories or Riot is messing up ranked. Note: I was winning 24LP and losing 20LP the moment it started to happen. So no bad MMR.

Historically speaking, Silver 1 and Plat V (now Plat IV) have been always problematic MMRs because somehow the system has hard times providing players a "balanced" match. From personal experience, whenever I'm climbing through Plat, in the 4th division most games are decided by which lane gets the "free win" ticket, meaning getting casually matched with Silvers/low Gold. I promise these games are the most frustrating experience you can get in LoL, way worse than a Janna Master tier supporter getting autofilled top against a top main. Most high Diamond players will never ever notice that, simply because when you win +60 and lose -15 even if you overall lose a couple of games more you don't care and won't affect your win rate that much, since you're better than the lobby you're in anyways. So yeah, maybe you lose a game or two, but within 2-3 wins you're out of it so you'll quickly forget. For players trying to climb or genuinely improving, this will be a nightmare to deal with since the system doesn't give shit about you being D4 skill wise while having a P4 MMR. After 100 games your MMR will be so fucked up that even if you're the best player in the room you will still be stuck in P4, better to make a new one and climb to D4 (maybe even higher, if you're a bit lucky) in probably half of the games. Other than that, I'm not even totally convinced about Riot being totally transparent about that since they decided to "hide" MMR but keep using it to determine which players will be in a certain match. So basically there's a value, you cannot see and barely affect that determines if you're going to win or lose a game unless you're miles ahead in terms of skills/game knowledge. Best!

10:20 in this sektion they talk about if you have peaked in a rank winning maybe 25 games in a row and started losing lp gains, explanation: riot does not like accounts gaining massive winstreaks because it can be seen as a boosted account, so preferably if you want to keep your lp gains you should win 3 games then lose and keep that pattern to consistantly climb and have the Same mmr because your account Will be closer to 50% wr which riot loves accounts to have because that is the 25+- lp mmr

Tldr: MMR will dictate your rank and the lobbies you play in. MMR higher than rank = good gains. MMR lower than your rank = negative gains. Winstreaks on ”stuck accounts” will kill your gains short term, because your LP climbs faster than your MMR. Dodging and remaking will boost your gains, because you are losing LP not MMR. Fresh accounts have inflated MMR gains, so it’s very easy to inflate yourself to a rank you don’t deserve short term. You have the rank you deserve on your main. MMR and LP gains are completely irrelevant, if you want to actually climb and improve. Focus on the game rather than your accout and other useless gimmicks

rose up ranks in one of my accounts which were platinum 2 seasons ago and got to emerald. suddenly my lp gains decreased so much that I was getting +17 -29 every game. I had over 60 percent win rate at the time. quit playing on that account and started a new one. after my first 3 games, I was already at platinum 4 with emerald mmr lol. I had a huge lose streak this split and went from g4 to s4 0lp with red exclamation mark. My lp ratio was like +17/-28 and i thought it’s gg for this account. I didn’t play poorly, my botlane always lost their lane harshly so i couldn’t really do much (i played top). It all changed after i picked up fiora and started to solo carry. This is because riot has bugs in the code, their game is started at amateur level, but they have too much spaghetti code right now, and they do not have courage or good engineer to redesign the game. If you went on a huge win streak then the game is trying to slow you down because it thinks you are moving too fast, MMR is lagging behind your LP, it will catch up in time, but will be frustrating for a while...

And those were the enemies that i were getting everygame, but for some reason riot was giving me iron players with mixed in gold-emerald (1 per game) or just iron with bronze teammates which were getting 10 deaths each at 20 minutes and it was just impossible to win a game. The game can't match duos 100% of the time. In very high ranks, there's just not enough players playing at the same time within the same MMR who also need to be duo and to cover needed roles, so sometimes it will forfeit matching duos for the sake of not waiting 30+ minutes in queue.

When I started playing a year ago this was my first moba game, I was expectedly bad and hopped into ranked and ran it down, like 0/10 stuff. I got a lot better, but I found the game more fun casually with friends doing off meta or just messing around. I eventually got to 0 lp iron 4 and my mmr was yuumi bot level. Fast forward and more of my friends get into the game and they want to play ranked, only problem is that they have insane +50 lp with no negative loss and they got placed in gold, I can't play with one of my friends until I'm silver. I started to solo climb and got to bronze 4 with a +15 -30 lp the whole time on average, my only question is: why does my lp not improve when I have a 65% winrate over 70+ ranked games? Not to sound conceded, but when a player has a consistent WR above 55% they are usually the difference maker and don't belong in that elo, its basically smurf queue.

To be fair, if you genuinely played ranked all the way down to Iron 4 0 LP... That account is going to take 2-3 Years of a 65% wr to fix in this system... esp any losses you took at 0 LP in Iron 4... Even tho your LP stays at 0 LP, your MMR continues to go down as well :/, at that point I would recommend leveling a new account to see where you actually belong in ranked

@@brennenwolf Yeah I’ve been told that, thing is I got too many skins, champs, and masteries/eternals to give that account up. I hovered around iron 3 really and never played ranked unless it was with friends so I don’t have many losses at iron 4 just an even win rate at iron 3 mostly. I only really JUST started playing ranked after only doing draft and other rotational modes on that account for a year. I’m just hopeful for the new lp changes next year, that’s all I can really look forward to because even a small loss streak can set me back multiple divisions, but climbing takes exponentially more wins.

I think the increase in LP gains/losses also doesn't help, similar to the removal of promos. I remember in previous seasons only at the beginning after promos would you get +20-25 lp, but it would settle down to +/- 15 after a few games. So in previous seasons it would take net 7 wins plus winning promos to go up a single tier, whereas now it only requires 4, which is less than half the wins to get the same lp. MMR may not adjusted to match those gains. For example I went on a 15 game win streak in a previous season and that was only 2 divisions, but this season I got an 8 game win streak which brought me up 3 divisions. I had less net wins but climbed higher than previous seasons, I don't think the MMR has caught up yet and that may be where the issue stems from.

Thats is because if your rank is far from your mmr, YOU'll gain LOT OF LP to make your rank fit your mmr but your mmr will not grow that much. ITs cause the system change and they need to fix the issue from old system so first thing to do is putting you in a rank that fit your mmr. Previous season(I think 2021 or 2020): I had a 15 game win-streak, plat 4 0LP -> Plat 2 20LP -5 games in plat 4 -2 promos -5 games in plat 3 -2 promos -then 1 more win before I finally lost a game Current season: I had an 8 game win-streak, plat 4 30LP -> plat 2 70LP -3 games in plat 4 -3 games in plat 3 -2 games in plat 2 Everyone has been getting matched with emerald/diamond people, that's the problem, but you probably think it's because you played really well 🤭. The problem is it's too easy to climb right now so everyone is mixed together, which is unhealthy for the game. I'm getting about equal lp on wins and losses in solo duo silver, but i'm getting +41 in my rankeds wins in low plat in flex. I don't get why the difference, and i've been playing both alone anyways

Enemy uses full rotation of skills, Fiora ulti and gets 4 vitals plus the healing and kills target, esp for xerath its harder for him to hit spells once fiora is right on top of him

i was emerald 1 with 60+ wr a month ago (havent played since) and my lp gain loss was something like 12-18/-26-30, also playing as an adc main the most unforgiving role in this game atm which is something the algorithm knows at this stage, yet i had to endure zombies and griefers like minimum 1 out of 3 games. nobody is faker and faker isnt perfect but the game itself is made by humans. i wont play ranked until they fix this and honestly lol is actually starting to enter the blizzard phase imo.

Yup and that’s why this video is garbage. I was literally 70% winrate in E2 and had the same gains/losses as you. People saying “your mmr hasn’t caught up with your win streak”. Then people say when you have a negative winrate and you lose more than you gain “you have to win streak to fix your mmr”. Nobody has an explanation for it except they’re doing it to just keep you where you are. Riot entered blizzard phase since season 9

hovering around emerald 2-4 with 54-55% win rate, winning about 17-20 and losing 28-35. it seems like 75% of my games have 1-2 "smurfs" in them, legit lvl 30-35 accounts with 100% win rate ranked duo with another account with same stats. Ive have multiple games where i shit you not the entire team was "smurfing" the highest lvl account was not even lvl 40. These account are in gold while im in emerald.. yet i could not duo with a gold player even if i wanted too. Im usually a mid diamond player each season yet i cant get out of emerald, the games seem so 1 sided every game for said reasons. very frustrating

Emerald seems to be very odd at the moment, I have some friends who were Masters Last Split and are stuck in Emerald, I have seen the footage, the game quality seems so abysmal I feel so bad for them idek

Its crazy that demoting is based on mmr and not lp. I know it feels bad to promote and then instantly demote but it shoulsnt be that way.

Had a 10 game winstreak on g4, after that i lost 6 games. Since then I get 17 lp per win and lose 31. That made me quit League.

Happened to me recently where I started Session Masters 50 LP... go 7-5... Masters 47 LP, I have an account thats MMR is currently bad and its so frustrating

I’m currently masters 300ish lp and I’m playing with grandmasters and challengers in almost every lobby I’m in, but I am losing 28 and gaining 21. Why is this the case? I’m playing against players that are significantly above my mmr and lp every single game and I have a very high winrate yet I keep losing so much and gaining so little. My winrate is the only thing that keeps me climbing. I literally win 6 out of 10 games against challengers and grandmasters just to stay at the same rank at 300 lp. I feel like riot shadowbanned me for inting or something, and they are screwing over my mmr secretly.

Recently (Within the last month), Masters+ players are seeing a HUGE drop off of LP games, think this was something they implemented because of how many players are in masters right now, and I think they are trying to cut the number down before the end of the season. These Gains and Losses seem to be very common lately among the high elo community

s13 was sooo tilting omfg. i started the season playing ranked like its normal games. after 100 games i started taking it serious. after playing well consistently with like 65%wr from emerald 4 to emerald 1 90 lp, my mmr got so bad, it was +22 -30. then i for some reason had a 12 game losingstreak where each 3 games i would drop a division.. these 12 games later i was back at emerald 4 0lp where my gains ended up at +18 -32 ... i played for another 100 games with these bs gains. i was going back and forth between em4 and p1 with 60% winrate. it didnt get better AT ALL. then i quit and played on a new account. after 20 games on that new account i was emerald 4... made me quit league for a while. got a girlfriend. now im back at it, but this season im probably making it to d4. wish me luck. lol

They have been over the years, but its usually just in small pieces, He was a part of the C9 Coaching program for a while so had a lot of intel and I learned ALOT of stuff that I didn't know from him

i stopped playing ranked at all because of current mmr system, last season i grinded d4 for the first time, got there with around 60% wr ended up with around d3 mmr, decided to take a break after because i got burned out, came back like a month and a half later i was plat 1 that fine decay is no big deal, but for some reason my mmr dropped so low that even playing around 20 game with 70-75% in those games and i fucking lost lp and mmr still stayed crap so i just gave up on ranked period from that point on, tryed a bit of ranked this season, got placed in gold 2 i think, got up to plat with a win streak and lp gains started going negative again so yeah.. i dont play ranked anymore. they could atleast let us manually decide if we want to completely reset our mmr/ elo to start fresh on the same account

Thats actually really odd... You don't lose MMR when you decay, and its actually a popular strat in high elo to BOOST MMR, so lets say someone is 500 LP Grandmasters, some people will tank 200 LP from decay to fix their MMR and then come back, I am not sure what happened with your account, something doesn't seem right

@@brennenwolf well that was the first time something like this happened to after decay cuz i would stop playing for a while after every single bigger grind. this particular time demotivated me completely tho and the moment i saw that nothing changed after 20 games or so i just gave up and decided to not play ranked period. i probably should have tryed to contact someone in riot about it cuz maybe something just gone wrong but its far too late now. maybe decaying over a division was the problem, i really have no clue

I came back to this game after 2 years and got placed p4 after my first placement, now I'm sitting on emerald 3 with 54% wr. My question is, why do I get 20lp and lose 28lp it happened all of a sudden it wasn't a slow decrease I was on a streak I don't understand I lose like every 4th game and my lp gains still decrease I'm thinking of quitting again I thought the game got healthier

Your MMR isn't keeping up with your LP, Game thinks you're climbing too fast, its trying to hold you back, if you stay consistent and maintain your rank it will even out over time... but by time I mean like 100 games... That's the part that sucks
