I played Rome 2 the other day, it's a game I can only play in small doses, but wow it was actually a lot of fun. I was playing at the brits and they had a horrible roster, where you really required multiple armies of cheap levies and slingers to win battles against better units. The maps were so much bigger and better than Warhammer 2. Having ships coming in from the sea on coastal sieges is so cool too. The units were very slow moving compared to warhammer 2 as well. In warhammer the foot troops seem to move as fast as Rome 2 cavalry lol.

I am retired now...thankfully... and I have been witness (never part of thankfully) of a lot of corporate takeovers, firings and downsizing. Layoffs should never happen as all of these companies make money... they sometimes make less money than anticipated... however they still make money. Maybe...if CA survives... in 3-5 years they will make more decent to good content. Not holding my breath.

A shame Mike Simpson never paid the price for his negligence. I blame Empire Total War and that Engine they created for it for all the problems CA has now. You dont continue to use an Engine that its first game was a buggy mess and expect things to work.

@@nerath639 Not in any live service iv seen. IDK it depends on the company, some keep staff and some just hire/fire as needed. There seems to be a split in how devs feel about the subject. DesignerDave on YT is an X Blizzard dev who likes how mobile game devs are, moving to projects that match there skills. It's a complex subject.

I wonder if all of the CA staff were informed of this properly. I hope they didn't get emailed about the redundancy or worse found out online...The worst thing is that while many might see this as a win/blow to CA it's really a loss to all of us that play total war games. This might not even change the way CA goes about making games and they could keep going until the workers who im sure do a good job are all made redundant and the company goes bust...

CA already announced themselves mass layoffs. this is old news. super old. the headline here is that robs is fired, not that 40% of CA is fired. that was confirmed WEEKS/MONTHS ago if you are familiar with my uploads. the reason i put 40% in the title is that i finally have been provided and exact number, something never had before. we didnt know if it was 30% or 40% or 50% until now. now we know exactly what it is. and we know rob is part of it.
