Make sure you do it safely, use soft surfaces, and don’t forget to swing your arms! Do at your own risk!

Note it's also a lot easier for men to learn than women. For women you need to get your hips over your head because it's your center of gravity. Men just need to pull their knees over their chest. It's harder and a bit different but not impossible, happy tumbling!

Thank you for actually posting the proper way to get a backflip. I’ve been a coach for 17 years, and I hate seeing videos that make it seem like a quick process. If gymnastics was easy, everyone would do it.

I’m a fast learner and the very first day my gymnastics coach started to teach me I got it, I first did it floor to the pit then I tried on a soft mat and landed it so at the end of class I tried on floor and landed btw my coach didn’t have to spot me on time, I know can do a RBH tuck😁🎉(I’m more advance then the other girls in my class so they were working backhand springs)

Spotting rule from someone who recently took a coaching course if you can’t touch their opposite shoulder you aren’t close enough to support them safely
@lizclaridge133510 ай бұрын
And also, the spotter needs to follow thru to the landing, obviously for under rotation, but also being aware that the gymnast can over rotate. It doesn’t happen nearly as often but over rotation does happen, with men in particular having more of a tendency to do so. With over rotation a gymnast can miss landing on their feet altogether, causing them to land on their back or neck and it can be quite dangerous. So the spotter should simply follow thru with a hand on the back just in case

Up like a jump and not back like a handspring. Tucking your knees will ‘roll’ you through the air plopping you right back down in your feet. Good luck everyone. Wish I understood this at 12 would’ve saved a lot of over rotates standing tucks. 😜

I think this is a very dangerous video because the one thing people do when propelling themselves backward is throw their head. Backtucks shouldn't be performed without direction from a qualified instructor. Mostly because they can correct bad body positions in drills before completing a skill. Seen to many people drill their heads in the ground or injury ankles trying things before they are ready or trying things with spotters thst have no idea how to spot if something goes wrong.
