For anyone wondering how much length the outserts and sleeve add, it comes out to 15/16”. This is for a .166 arrow shaft. I’m very impressed with the quality, design, and strength. Good job Ethics!

I just bought some black Eagle vintage that have the outserts. I haven’t received them yet. I think your explanation will be a big help when assembling. The very bottom of my back stop is an piece of industrial conveyor belt that the arrows just bounce off of. Hopefully my shafts won’t be damaged if I miss. There’s lots to learn for us newbies.

Does this system fit over gold tip traditional arrows
@3RiversArchery3 жыл бұрын
They offer sizes that will work with those arrows yes. Currently, we do not offer sizing to fit over standard diameter carbon arrows. Just the Micro diameter shafts (Traditional Only Barebow).

Do you glue them in?
@3RiversArchery3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you would glue the post and the sleeve in-place. We recommend an epoxy for the strength it offers.

So these serve the same purpose as your carbon and nock collars?
@3RiversArchery3 жыл бұрын
They replace the insert part too, but yes, they would replace the collars. These offer a lot more coverage on the arrow shaft, plus weight.

Can you just use the insert with out the sleeve like a normal .244 insert? They are the only inserts for .204 I can find with a footing and not an outsert.
@3RiversArchery Жыл бұрын
I suppose you could use the insert by itself, but there are HIT inserts that would work, and you can use our carbon collars for the footing: www.3riversarchery.com/carbon-collars-aluminum-footings-for-carbon-arrows.html Please give us a call and we can see about what inserts/footings will work for your needs.

What length does this change the arrow? I typically run a 26.5in arrow with a half out pushing close to 27in. Would this be safe to say it's very close with these?
@3RiversArchery3 жыл бұрын
The sleeve portion will sit over approximately an inch of the arrow shaft. It extends past the end of the shaft roughly 3/8" as well.

Do these long inserts stiffen the shaft?
@3RiversArchery2 жыл бұрын
They would change the FOC of the arrow, but wouldn't expect stiffening. They are also heavier, so that weakens arrow spine as well.

I shoot 72lbs at 30” DL with a 300 spine arrow roughly 29” C2C using drop away rest would one of these inserts weaken my spine to much ? Shooting magnus hornets 125 g , just ask because I’m really interested in these inserts but I do t want to have to buy new arows
@3RiversArchery2 жыл бұрын
Depending on what combination you go, and how well tuned your current set up is, it is possible you would need to either change spines, or add more weight to the nock end. It does not take as much weight on the nock end to counter the point end. It would be best to try a field point test kit for the heavyweight points. See how the added weight shoots before making up some arrows. www.3riversarchery.com/screw-in-field-point-test-kit-5-16.html

Can I order 12 complete 600 grain total arrows? For 50 lbs recurve 27in draw? With single bevel Broadhead? Who do I call?
@3RiversArchery2 жыл бұрын
Our order line is 260-587-9501 (USA country code is 1). We can help walk you through a set up to get you what you are needing. I would highly recommend a test kit for starters though.

How can you be confident you're putting the right amount of weight up front if you have to epoxy them in pace before you shoot them?
@3RiversArchery3 жыл бұрын
It is best to do testing on a single shaft with heat reversible glue. You can use a field point test kit to test different weights and tune your arrow before using your Ethics outserts. www.3riversarchery.com/screw-in-field-point-test-kit-5-16.html

Use a product like Bohning Cool Melt for testing. This allows you to gently heat back up and remove inserts. Then when you have the weight that works best, you can epoxy them in. I’ve also tested just running the Cool Melt and it holds inserts in place pretty well. I’ve had a few come out but not many after hundreds of shots.

But then you struggle getting your arrows out of targets with woven fabric target faces, which is pretty much most targets.
@3RiversArchery2 жыл бұрын
That really depends where you are shooting. Most of the archery events in the Midwest, for example, are 3D foam targets. Yes, if you are shooting into bag and other fabric targets anything not flush against the arrow will have a snag. The Ethics do taper back to the shaft probably the best of any outsert, so it would still have some lip, but for the added weight/reinforcement, a good trade off.
