Yesterday I began with just creating a very simplistic block-like creature without any guidance. Today I've tackled this fantastic tutorial and was able to recreate the snowman. Thank you very much, I feel like I've got a much better idea of the workflow now! For the most part it went pretty damn smooth, 1 fingers pivot just didn't want to change.. must have done the same action a dozen times before it finally changed in the animation view. No clue what I did wrong there, but I got there in the end haha. Very happy with the end result.. Animating is definitely the tricky part. I'm gonna toy around with creating a few new poses for this snowman and after that jump into an entire new model.

I think the current block bench has been upgraded, as some of the ui set ups are different. That being said if you need to find a tool, click on the three dots and go to customize. Then you can just search for whatever tool you need, (some aren't there)and use it.

@hatac Жыл бұрын
If you duplicate, rename and re-size the while thing does that break the animations? If you re size and make wider or narrower does that break the animation? Making juveniles and giants.
@MoreByKev Жыл бұрын
Animations are only affected on bones that are animated - and no, it won't break in that scenario, only need adjustment (depending on what you change). Renaming is conventional from ID in the file, so that doesn't change linking internally, and if you export a file with new names, just make sure they add up in the other files - so that the reference is correct. Duplication creates a new copy of the affected bones and elements - and these new ones has no animation to them. The previous ones retain their keyframes. Re-size, depending on how it's done, will require adjustments, since increasing the length of for example a lower leg may/will change the position - if you give it a brief thought of trigonometry and the effects of changing the length of an axis, especially in motion.
@hatac Жыл бұрын
@@MoreByKev OK that all makes sense. For the major size changes I was going to re do the animations any way. I'll have to start simple. I've used other voxel modelers. But unlearning stuff is hard. I've seen your work for Mojang, its great.

For the past two years. I've been modelling and animating multiple different entities that I planned to be a mod for Java. Only to just find out that you cannot use Generic models for games or anything. All my work has been going to nothing.
@MoreByKev Жыл бұрын
You do know you can convert projects? Generic allows exporting to tons out outlets, as other games may utilize obj, fbx and/or gltf output from BB. Modded models are heavily influenced by the modding design, and you'd wanna look up GeckoLib and behaviour coding to get into actually building a mod - if I am reading what I think you're saying between the lines.

Does the default download of this program need a patch? This was uploaded only 3 months ago but it's really hard to follow because my UI seems to be different than yours. I had to manually map the drag & rotate keybindings in order for that to work, and I don't see the rotate handles at all... I only have the fields for "posdition" and "size" and the two rows you have under that aren't there... so I can't rotate the block at all.

Hi, I have a question. Whenever I paint some pixels, some other random ones get painted as well. I don’t know what to do. Can you please help me?
@MoreByKev Жыл бұрын
It's usually 1 of 3 reasons: 1) You have mirror paint turned on 2) You have dragged a texture onto your model's cubes, and as such it will show paint on whatever part of the texture image any surface of the model uses 3) You've duplicated a cube with a texture already applied and moved it around, resized it, and not waited with making a texture until the entire model was done :)
