Humidity- humid when referring to the weather. I'd say something is moist would be more common than talking about the weather in general. But of course they are very similar.

Thank you!

Humidity work a great paper on temperature. in my island there are 80-90%+ humidity in the summer and the winter, so 38° is like 45+ and 5° is -1 and the cold penetrate in the bones and make u feel bad. I went amsterdam with 3° and yes its a very very cold, but with good stuff you are hot, while in mallorca 10° you have trouble for keep warm.

Oh, it's sunday and another Catalan lesson from Maria. Thanks. Your previous lessons had conversations where "fa" was used a lot in the context of the weather, but the new lesson is more comprehensive. Your intro does beg the side question about the difference between "de nou", "encara" and "une altra vegada". I can guess from French that they are equivalent to "de nouveau", "encore" and "une autre fois" respectively, often interchangeable in meaning, but not always. The similarities could be only superficial to French though.
@learncatalanfrombarcelona77566 жыл бұрын
That is right, it has become a Sunday ritual 😂😂 That is a fair point and it totally deserves an explanation :) in the meantime, I can confirm that I used "de nou" and "una altra vegada" as synonyms in the intro piece.

In English we say it's humid. New York is hot and humid in the summer, and people from the desert complain about how humid it is. Moist is used to describe objects, some of which can't be mentioned.

You can also say muggy, not sure if this is just a British term. Muggy is used especially when it's cloudy but still very warm and humid and the air feels like it's sticking to you.

Hola Maria! Benvinguts de nou per tu tambe🌺🌺🌺 So in Catalan it’s customary to think of the weather both in terms of how it appears and how it actually is. That’s quite brilliant because sometimes the weather appears different than what it actually is! To answer your question - Avui, in my computer land, in the town of KZbin, Fa molt brillant, hi ha molts escumosos⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😉😉😉😉
@learncatalanfrombarcelona77566 жыл бұрын
Moltes gràcies pel comentari! :) I think I got what you meant when describing "el temps a KZbin", but just checking if you meant that it is "shiny"? Great efforts!! (bona feina!!) :)

Ho sento bella Maria!! I am usually cautious about using google translate, but this time I forgot to double check. Now that I checked, I am very embarrassed!! I feel like a character from that old TV show ‘Mind Your Language’🙈🙉🙊🙏🙏 What I meant to say (and which has nothing in connection to wines!) is that ‘It’s very bright’ (meaning you look very bright, as usual) and ’There are a lot of sparkles’ (meaning you radiate a lot of joy). Sorry again if I offended you. I guess I won’t be attempting Catalan Poetry anytime soon😢😓🤭😬🤐

Nothing to worry about! It is always tricky when it comes to languages :) moltíssimes gràcies for the compliment anyways 😄 And my utmost respect to those who give poetry a shot! I could never craft a decent rhyme myself ;) PS: so funny you mentioned ‘Mind Your Language’! My mum is self-learning English and she told me about this show and how she sometimes relates to it 🙊

Hola Maria!
@learncatalanfrombarcelona77566 жыл бұрын
Hola Alex!
