I have often read about eating vinegar and eating tofu in Chinese novels. Even the phrase "Vinegar spilled on his stomach" I have often found in novels. I like Chinese novels and many of the words the novelists often use. There are others too, I don't know which type it belongs to. Like Black Belly, Lying Down and Being a Salt Fish, Cutting Arms, Chrysanthemum, Green Hat and many more, I don't remember well. Sorry if there are wrong words.🙏

@AskAndy3 жыл бұрын
It's up to 1.what level you want to achieve 2. who you are 3. what methodology you learn it with 4. How much time and effort you put into it
@darrylkassle3613 жыл бұрын
@@AskAndy yes that is very true. The U.S DEFENSE LANGUAGE INSTITUTE teaches languages for the American armed forces and they have researched the ‘average’ time needed to become functionally fluent after studying a course of study to advanced level Different languages are categorized at different levels according to their degree of difficulty - As Group 5 languages, Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese Chinese need a good 2200 hours of study to properly learn. For most people, however, the goal is to learn enough Chinese to carry on conversations and read Chinese menus, magazines, and other publications -- which takes a lot less time.21 May 2019
