Yeah, I am Czech and I know some Polish even when I don't learn it :D You know what's funny? When you're looking for something, you say:,, Szukam (I am not sure with how it's written) --something--" And the pronounciation of the word "look for" means "I fuck --something" in Czech if you get me xD

Hola!!! Hi!! I´m a Spanish- speaking person... I consider languages a true wonder. A real and amzing " invention" of human beings... I have friends who can speak fluently 4 or 5 languages... They told me since they were little, they were exposed to those languages ´cause they had to live in different contries because of their parents´jobs..Lucky them!!!!!!!I speak English very well because since I was a child I fell in love with pop music in English, you know Michael J, Madonna, Janet, Whitney Houston, Bananarama etc and I wanted so badly to be able to understand and sing along., so music was my first and real motivation.. Then, I met Americans at College and I improved ,the language: I proposed them to practice 30 minutes English one day and 30 minutes of Spanish the day after. We used to meet a certain time every day and it was a bid success... Now I´m here because I wanted to know more about Czech... I´m curious!!!!! Greetings from Costa Rica!!!! By the way, I´ve been studying a little about Prague, the capital.

@@michalvesely3484 I don't know Polish. I'm learning Russian, so for me Czech is similar to Russian. Btw all of these languages are Slavic. The fact that Czech is similar to Polish does not negate the fact that it is also similar to Russian.

Hello Jordan, Thank you for your question. Yes, you are right. The verb "rád" or "ráda" changes depending on gender. "Rád" Is for a male or about a male whilst "ráda" is for female speech or about a female. If you speak about yourself, as a male you'd use "rád", if you are a female you will use "ráda". Don't hesitate to ask more questions should you have any. Sincerely Hanka Team CzechClass101.com

Is it possible to learn Russian, Czech, Spanish and Mandarin? Or would that be too hard for anyone?

If you learn Russian, Czech language should be no problem. Also if you learn Czech first Russian should not be problem aswell. I know nothing about Spanish nor Mandarin so the only thing I can say is just... good luck. xD

Iri554, Not really, I am a portuguese speaker and can understand pretty much everything a spanish speaker says. They can also understand us pretty well.

Hi Dao, thank you for your question. Czech and Polish language are both so called Slav languages. They have some similarities in vocab and grammar. However, Polish has very different spelling compare to Czech, also larger use of w, c, z, cz. Polish lacks some of the letters contained in the Czech alphabet. To a certain degree, it is possible for Czechs and Polish people to understand some of the conversation, but not fully. I tried a few times and I always got lost every third sentence. The vocab can differ a lot. And yes, Czech language is relatively hard to master, albeit not impossible. I think it depends on nationality and languages. Just like for Europeans is much harder to learn and Asian language usually because of tones used in those languages, something we are not used to when speaking. the same applies the other way around. In my life I have met quite a few foreigners who spoke very good Czech. It was impressive. Sincerely Hanka team CzechClass.101.com

how do you say Hey beautiful in cZECH?
@Czechclass101
@Czechclass101 8 жыл бұрын
+Shawn Afshar Hello Shawn, thank you for your question. First of all, let me tell you that this direct English term does not exist in the Czech language. Beautiful in Czech is "krásná", but we do not tend to say Ahoj krásná, that sounds weird. Beauty is "kráska" (as in the Beauty and the Beast title), but again, try to say to a girl "ahoj krásko" and the effect is not going to be amazing. It sounds somewhat shallow. If you want to compliment a girl, you better say "dobrý den, krásná slečno" (hello, pretty girl). By this you are also showing some manners (dobrý den is a polite greeting) and compliment to the girl/ woman. Hope this helps. Sincerely Hanka. Team CzechClass101.com

Does the teacher said Dečim tě nearly the end of the lesson without the unseen label?
@Czechclass101
@Czechclass101 9 жыл бұрын
+ApprenPlayer Hello ApprenPlayer, thank you for your question. In fact, the phrase you question is těší mě (pleasure to meet you), not Dečim tě, as you asked. Sometimes it's difficult to understand the exact words if you are not yet familiar with the pronunciation of each alphabet letter, such as ď, ť, ň....or dě, tě, ně. I hope you can get a chance to learn the Czech alphabet too. :) Sincerely Hanka Team Czech.Class101

I was wondering if you have to say jsem or can you just say já and then your name? Because I know in Russian we just say ya(я) when we are taking about ourselves
@Maty1773

Yes, you need to include 'jsem.' It's a rule to include verb in a sentence. Without it, it would be like saying 'I Paul' in Enlish ;)

Hi Vremm, there is a difference in pronunciation, you might not hear it at the beginning, but the more Czech you listen to the more you will pick up on it. Good luck! Cheers, Bára Team CzechClass101.com
