Hola!!! Hi!! I´m a Spanish- speaking person... I consider languages a true wonder. A real and amzing " invention" of human beings... I have friends who can speak fluently 4 or 5 languages... They told me since they were little, they were exposed to those languages ´cause they had to live in different contries because of their parents´jobs..Lucky them!!!!!!!I speak English very well because since I was a child I fell in love with pop music in English, you know Michael J, Madonna, Janet, Whitney Houston, Bananarama etc and I wanted so badly to be able to understand and sing along., so music was my first and real motivation.. Then, I met Americans at College and I improved ,the language: I proposed them to practice 30 minutes English one day and 30 minutes of Spanish the day after. We used to meet a certain time every day and it was a bid success... Now I´m here because I wanted to know more about Czech... I´m curious!!!!! Greetings from Costa Rica!!!! By the way, I´ve been studying a little about Prague, the capital.

Hi Dao, thank you for your question. Czech and Polish language are both so called Slav languages. They have some similarities in vocab and grammar. However, Polish has very different spelling compare to Czech, also larger use of w, c, z, cz. Polish lacks some of the letters contained in the Czech alphabet. To a certain degree, it is possible for Czechs and Polish people to understand some of the conversation, but not fully. I tried a few times and I always got lost every third sentence. The vocab can differ a lot. And yes, Czech language is relatively hard to master, albeit not impossible. I think it depends on nationality and languages. Just like for Europeans is much harder to learn and Asian language usually because of tones used in those languages, something we are not used to when speaking. the same applies the other way around. In my life I have met quite a few foreigners who spoke very good Czech. It was impressive. Sincerely Hanka team CzechClass.101.com

how do you say Hey beautiful in cZECH?
@Czechclass1018 жыл бұрын
+Shawn Afshar Hello Shawn, thank you for your question. First of all, let me tell you that this direct English term does not exist in the Czech language. Beautiful in Czech is "krásná", but we do not tend to say Ahoj krásná, that sounds weird. Beauty is "kráska" (as in the Beauty and the Beast title), but again, try to say to a girl "ahoj krásko" and the effect is not going to be amazing. It sounds somewhat shallow. If you want to compliment a girl, you better say "dobrý den, krásná slečno" (hello, pretty girl). By this you are also showing some manners (dobrý den is a polite greeting) and compliment to the girl/ woman. Hope this helps. Sincerely Hanka. Team CzechClass101.com

I still can't the palatalized ř, ť and ď, do you have any videos for that?
