My brother studied languages at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in California. The pace of study was intense. Students had to master the language course in 36-64 weeks. Psychologically it was very difficult, but fortunately he was helped by Yuriy Ivantsiv's book "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages”. The book " Polyglot Notes" became a desk book for my brother, because it has answers to all the problems that any student of a foreign language has to face. Thanks to the author of the channel for this interesting video! Good luck to everyone who studies a foreign language and wants to realize their full potential!

Im from germany and 15 (so sorry for my bad english :) I decided to understand what they're saying so I can rap with 'em or just get the feel from the song, you know what I mean... :D So I opened the Lyrics page (didnt look at the lyrics doe) and took out a sheet of paper. I played the music and stopped it every hmm I think 30 Seconds and wrote down what I remembered and understood, word for word and after that I compared it to the Lyrics. There were really much Words I dont even knew and I learned so much from it, how to spell them, how to write them, I mean today I can almost understand everything and Im the best in my class so I think it works :D As you can see I'm still a noob when it comes to write a text (mostly bc of the tenses) but i wont give up learning never been one for past tenses so know that im moving forward before i finish this sentence :p

By the way the advices are good. I liked the 2nd one mostly. Just thank you. By the way, I have not found a video about difference between "between" and "among". Could you give your ideas about this as a person who lives among native speakers. Is "between" really about choice between two things or some several things (but definite)?

I switched off subtitles and i can understand every word you say. But your speaking are very clear and accentuated. Something you can't say about majority of native english speakers. In reality you have much tougher challenge to understand some people speaking.)

For me, when I'm physically tired, it becomes harder for me to speak and understand English. I even spoke my native language to English speaker unconsciously when I was extremely tired.

These are great tips! I can understand videos in english on youtube and even chat in person just fine, but I've never been bold enough to watch a full movie without English subtitles. Will definitely try your method to fix this - and will also apply it to Spanish, the language I'm currently learning :) By the way, sir, you're a fantastic teacher, thank you for sharing your content with us!

How many time did you practice listening. It just because you need more listening. It's called silent period. It takes about 1200 hours until your brain starts to make up the words instantly (will come out on your mouth) and automaticly according the ideas you want to express. But don worry, you are in the right way, carry on, and you will see better results :)

Don't be afraid. Just speak slowly, and eventually, you'll become better and better and will be able to speak like a native. Nobody is going to laugh at you.

+qweqeq wqeqweq The first rule I tell my students is don't be afraid of making mistakes. Native speakers realize English is a difficult language to learn. So relax, no one's going to laugh. If you speak English with totally no mistakes, native speakers will know your first language isn't English. :)

I did home practice unconsciously, while trying to write down lyrics of an adorable song. Then I compare with the original lyrics. And, as you sad, later, while listening to the song, I started to distinguish words. You are soo right.
