So do us dudes need to grow a lil bit longer nails 💅 to make finger picking a bit easier? No one had yet mentioned this and it appears this is what I am noticing?

I think the slightest bit of nail definitely helps. Not vampire nails but just enough to get a good volume when plucking.

What’s weird is I’m self taught - rock guitar- but I do finger style with acoustic- BUT besides finger a few chords my own way - lol- I’ve always had the correct technique. How did that happen? I had no lessons - but it just turned out that way I guess , I’m thinking over time , it’s a natural feeling position with thr angle - for me at least
