I love your lessons! You're such a great teacher, and I appreciate the pauses you make. I grew up in Canada and my parents grew up in Guyana, where they were taught simple Hindi but never spoke it at home. Bollywood basically raised me, so I'm lucky enough to understand the language, but I'm working on grammar, reading and writing Hindi. Thank you SO much for these free lessons! Looking forward to more videos!

How is kal yesterday or tomorrow?
@shachichotia2795
@shachichotia2795 5 жыл бұрын
Kal is used for both yesterday and tomorrow
@areehanoor1571
@areehanoor1571 3 жыл бұрын
The sentence in which it is used clarifies whether it's meaning is yesterday or tomorrow in the sentence. Eg Me kal aya tha (sentence is in past tense which means *kal* here means yesterday, Mai kal avungi(it means I'll come tomorrow obviously it can't be I'll come yesterday) Thus, it's meaning is suggested by the sentence itself. Hope it helps ☺️

Why Hindi dropped using Schwa and most of the words in Hindi are 'Halanta' ( हलंत )? Most of the southern languages and Marathi and Sanskrut retained it? Even Halanta ( हलंत ) is pronounced as Halant ( हलंत् )
@elborrador333
@elborrador333 3 жыл бұрын
Unknown but maybe due to evolution of the northern Prakrits and influence of Persian and Arabic. Though, Nepali doesn't delete the schwa so it's unclear what really happened that lead to schwa syncope in some but not all north Indian Indo-European languages.
