I like the SC tapestry much better than the C2C. Thank you for the examples and the clear explanations!

Thank you SO MUCH!! I've purchased a C2C graphgan pattern and I want to change it to right/left HDC........ would I not do 3 HDC for each block to the right/left and 2 rows of HDC per one row of C2C? I want it to be relatively the same size as the C2C pattern. Regardless, this video saved me lol Edit: I saw where you answered this already.... so you really think making a large border is better than adding 3-4 stitches per block? I really want the detail to shine through so maybe the large border on each square would be best (my pattern comes in large squares that have to be sewn together.... it's a Zelda blanket and I don't want it to look stretched at all)

Happy to help! I would recommend working up practice swatches with the stitch/yarn/hook you would like to use and attempt to make a "block" of color that would end up making a perfect square with those number of stitches. Basically coming up with the same width x height if that makes sense. You may have to play around with hook size to get it close. I hope that helps!

Great tutorial! I have a question. I'm trying to convert a sc pattern into a c2c pattern. Is that possible? How would I do this? TIA
@nanascraftyhome Жыл бұрын
Yes you can convert to a c2c graph. The easiest way is to simply work a c2c block in your desired stitch for each sc pixel in the graph. This will work best if your sc graph isn't already quite large as your finished c2c pattern is going to be much larger than a graph using sc stitches. I would recommend trying it with the mini-hdc stitch rather than the dc c2c block and see how it begins working up. I hope that helps! 💕🌸

Sorry to question this but if each block represents one of the C2C clusters wouldn’t that be 3 or even 4 single crochets per block and 2 rows?
@nanascraftyhome2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the question! I have found that if you work 3x2 sc stitches the image will become stretched looking. Some people have had success with a 3x3 substitution but I think it makes your finished product look more blocky. I would recommend trying a small graph and try out different methods you would like to try and see how it looks for you. I hope that helps!

@@nanascraftyhome thank you so much, I will definitely try that… I’m trying a graph for the first time and it’s going to be a special present… thank you for responding so quickly

What happens if you make each square represent 2 dc instead of 2 rows of sc?
@nanascraftyhome8 ай бұрын
You are looking to make as close to a "square" with your stitches as possible - height and width basically the same. I don't think 2 dc would be the same width as height - would probably need to be 3 dc stitches to make a square. I would recommend working up a swatch and then measuring your stitches to get the appropriate number. If the stitches make more of a rectangle your graph will look elongated if that makes sense. I hope that helps!

On the project where you are doing 2 SC per square is the first row the wrong side and 2nd row the right side or is it row 1 and 2 wrong side , 3 and 4 right side etc.? Hope it makes sense ☺️

Happy to help! Typically I would choose Row 1 to be the RS. However, that doesn't have to be the case. Based on the graph and where I begin changing colors I may choose to have row 2 be the RS. Once I decide the RS I will then keep the yarn I am carrying to the WS of my work. I hope that helps! 💕

If I want to c2c from a single crochet graph pattern, would I just read each square as 1 block?
@nanascraftyhome Жыл бұрын
Yes, if you have a sc graph pattern you would read each square as 1 dc or hdc block in c2c. I hope that helps! 💕🌸

How do you do it in reverse so I mean how would you change a single cache pattern into a corner corner pattern
@nanascraftyhome8 ай бұрын
So typically I will simple work 1 c2c block per sc block from the graph. However, if the sc graph is quite large already this would make an extremely large blanket. If moving from sc to c2c it would be best from a smaller graph. I hope that helps!

Have you ever done three single crochets per each block?
@nanascraftyhome4 ай бұрын
I haven't tried 3 sc sts per block but would be great to check out! I would recommend working up a small graph - my heart graph would be perfect! You are looking for stitches that would be close to a square so 3 sc sts across and 3 rows of sc per block. If you try it let me know how it goes!
